Innovative IT Security Concepts for Businesses
Interview with Jens Wübker, Managing Director of ConSecur GmbH
Since its establishment in 1999, ConSecur GmbH has developed into a leading provider in the field of IT security and offers a comprehensive range of services, from strategic consulting to operational security solutions. With locations in Meppen and Bochum, the company serves numerous clients and relies on innovative technologies and tailored solutions. Jens Wübker, Managing Director of ConSecur, provides insights into the company's development, the biggest challenges in the industry, and the strategic objectives for the future.
The origins of ConSecur lie in consulting for IT security solutions. Over the years, the company has continuously evolved and now offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to the ever-changing needs of customers. With around 80 employees at locations in Meppen and Bochum, ConSecur has established a strong position in the market. A special milestone in the company's history was the establishment of the Cyber Defense Center (CDC) in 2018 in Bochum. This center forms the operational base for ConSecur's security measures and enables the company to monitor and optimize the IT security solutions of its customers around the clock.
"Our employees are our greatest asset," emphasizes Jens Wübker.
ConSecur places great emphasis on the continuous professional development of its experts to ensure that they are always familiar with the latest developments and technologies in IT security. This strategic focus has led to high employee retention and low turnover. In addition, the company uses innovative tools and remote work to respond flexibly and efficiently to customer requirements. This modernity is also reflected in the corporate culture, which is based on openness and innovation.
A Comprehensive Portfolio in IT Security
The service portfolio of ConSecur is broad and covers all areas of IT security, from strategic consulting to implementation and ongoing maintenance of security systems. The customization of solutions to meet the specific needs of clients is a central element. "We see ourselves as partners of our clients and develop tailored solutions together with them," explains Jens Wübker. A particular strength of the company lies in its flexibility and independence. Unlike many competitors, ConSecur is not tied to specific products or manufacturers. This allows the company to always select the best solutions for the specific challenges of its clients.
Future Visions and Challenges
The IT security industry is constantly evolving, and ConSecur sees rapid digitalization as one of its biggest challenges. "The threat landscape is constantly changing, and we must continuously evolve to meet the growing demands," explains Jens Wübker. This also involves integrating new technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, which are becoming increasingly important.
ConSecur plans to increasingly integrate these technologies into its services to further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of security solutions. Another central goal is the expansion of the Cyber Defense Center. A Cyber Defense Center is the strongest defensive line against cyberattacks. Here, customer IT systems are monitored around the clock, and potential threats are detected and countered early on. "The CDC is the core of our operational security measures, and we will continue to invest in its expansion," says Jens Wübker.
The Recipe for Success: Proximity to Customers, Personal Contact
Even though ConSecur occasionally undertakes projects outside Germany, for example in Switzerland, France, Ireland, and the USA, "and we can boast having an 'outpost' in outer space, since we monitor the Columbus module on the ISS," jokes the managing director, the company's focus is clearly on the German market. Proximity to customers is a central part of the company's philosophy: "We are convinced that personal contact and individual support are the keys to long-term success in the dynamic IT security industry," concludes Jens Wübker.
