Ica Distribution uses Aura Protector Long Life
Ica Distribution in Helsingborg, Sweden uses Aura Protector Long Life. “It’s a clear advantage for the user to have fluorescent lamps with an extra long service life as this leverages major saving on maintenance costs”.
The distribution unit which is located in the Långeberga industrial park in east Helsingborg, Sweden, is the largest and most modern of its kind in Europe. The building is 400 metres long, 165 metres wide and contains both a 28 metre high bay storage facility and a 10,000 square metre freezer department. The total area for handling a full range of foodstuffs is 63,000 square metres. An impressive structure of this kind requires its light – and an economic, well-planned lighting solution.
Good experiences
”ICA wanted to use Aura Protector Long Life in all its facilities with open handling, as experiences from the distribution units in Växjö and Västerås had been very positive. We were in total agreement, as our experiences of Aura Light had also been first rate. It is a clear advantage for the user to have fluorescent lamps with an extra long service life as this leverages major savings on maintenance costs, explains Per Månsson at the distribution unit”.
Aura Protector Long Life meets the requirements
ICA observe stringent requirements when selecting fluorescent lamps, in particular for the sake of the working environment and the foodstuffs, from the perspective of the consumer.
Per Månsson tells why ICA has chosen Aura Protector Long Life:
”Aura Protector Long Life provides excellent insurance: The fluorescent lamp is fitted with a ”safety stocking” of thin plastic that captures glass splinters and luminescent material if an accident were to occur. This lamp is very popular in sensitive industries such as food and pharmaceuticals. In addition, we have installed elapsed time indicators in the building computer that count the hours the lighting is used, which is a good method of analyzing our investment.”
