Feintool exhibits X-TRA Fineblanking press with peripherials

Feintool Technologie AG is presenting fineblanking as an end-to-end process at this year’s EuroBLECH. The centrepiece is its FEINspeed X-TRA servo-hydraulic fineblanking press with integrated ejector system and stock feeder. The technology and global market leader will be exhibiting end-to-end peripheral systems that are designed to be fully compatible with its high-performance, energy-efficient presses. Feintool’s modular system enables users to automate processes all the way from coil to completed part.

“Users can automate the entire process to suit their needs by combining our fast and efficient fineblanking presses with stock feeders and ejector systems,” emphasizes Stefan Etzold, Head of Sales and Marketing at Feintool Technologie AG. “That way they can manufacture cost-efficiently and with reliable quality all the way from coil to completed part.” Feintool is presenting its X-TRA 450 fineblanking press, which has a press force of 450 kN, at this year’s EuroBLECH, the showcase trade fair for the sheet metal working industry. With peripherals such as the Feintool ejector system and FBA stock feeders, the technology and global market leader from Switzerland has end-to-end solutions that cover the entire manufacturing process from coil to completed fineblanked part.

Automated manufacturing from coil to completed part

The centrepieces are Feintool’s fineblanking presses with the company’s tried-and-tested X-TRA technology, which have won over customers with their impressive performance, variable cutting speeds and simple operation. The results are process reliability and consistent flexibility. The powerful hydraulics blank sheet metal accurately thanks to their precision servo control system. High stroke rates and minimal downtimes guarantee cost-efficient manufacturing of both large and small production runs.

For even greater cost-efficiency, Feintool supplies stock feeders with short retooling and coil changeover times that are ideal for integration into fineblanking systems. Stock feeders are available in four basic versions for strip thicknesses of 0.8 to 12 mm and the two widths of 300 and 500 mm, and they can be attached to the press as either a compact version or longer model. They straighten the sheet metal strip and feed it reliably to the fineblanking press. The modular concept means the system can be put together so that it meets the customer’s specification, starting with the basic version and adding varying degrees of automation and ease of operation.

First ejector system with parking position

The system that Feintool is exhibiting at EuroBLECH incorporates another first in the form of an ejector system with parking position. It uses a tried-and-tested linear motor combined with a tubular system with a linear guide, overload clutch and shielded motor components and guides to ensure reliable operation. Feintool has made a huge effort in recent years to optimize part and slug outfeeding by means of a modular ejection system. Poor outfeed performance is now a thing of the past, particularly when compared to air expulsion techniques. With just minimal tool adjustments, outfeed performance is now normally equal to or even better than that achieved by blowing out parts. The additional benefits yielded by process stability make the advantages of this new ejector system abundantly clear, and reliable parts removal at rates of up to 100 strokes a minute is now possible. Feintool’s EuroBLECH exhibit is an impressive demonstration of how fineblanking can be transformed into an automated end-to-end process.
