Metal works at its best

Portrait

Cold sheet metal moulding, processing of steel for aesthetic applications, structural steel works, installations, surface finishings – Bipres stands out with a particularly complex service portfolio focusing on mechanical services for third parties.

The company relies on fundamental expertise and know-how that has constantly been broadened along with increasing customer demands. Bipres was founded 50 years ago by the Biserni family. It operated as a traditional blacksmith in its early days before slowly shifting its focus towards sheet metal stamping activities.

In the 1990s, the cooperation with Sacmi Imola, a leading manufacturer of machines and complete plants for the ceramics, packaging, food and automation industries, led to a significant growth spurt.

Still today, Sacmi makes up 50% of turnover. To be able to flexibly react to an increasing market demand, Bipres acquired CMM Srl in Forlì – nowadays a reference point for numeric control operations – and established a plant in Portico di Romagna to focus on complete machines and complex metalworking processes.

Today, 110 employees are working at Bipres’ three sites; annual sales are 15 million EUR. “Order books are full, and turnover is constantly increasing,” states Managing Director Riccardo Ragazzini. “In 2014, the company’s founders Emilio Biserni and Berti Piero retired and a new management followed in their footsteps. We invested in new technologies such as advanced coating lines and now aim to further broaden our customer range home and abroad. Many of our loyal customers are leaders in their markets which is a great asset. The prominent customer range is a perfect advertisement, a sign for flexibility, reliability and competence.”

Among Bipres’ customers are global players such as Electrolux, Sacmi Imola, Cefla, Cimbali, Albini, Fontanot and PMC. They work with high quality machines and mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electric components.

Bipres’ competence is highly demanded when it comes to installations for the ceramic industry, electrical household appliances, staircases, agricultural machines, coffee machines and furnishings.

A special focus is placed on hydraulic solutions. “Bipres aims to support customers with complete solutions,” stresses Mr. Ragazzini. “This is an important trademark. Our extraordinary flexibility is mirrored by solutions of all different dimensions – regardless if customers need one single component or complete machines. We develop prototypes and work out tailor-made solutions; our values always put customers first; their success is our success and any decision is made in accordance with them. At Bipres everything is literally about satisfying customers.”

Based on this philosophy, Bipres is keen to further grow in terms of markets, products and sales. A formula to grow could be to enter new markets such as Germany, Switzerland and Italy; markets where quality made in Italy is greatly appreciated.

Bipres is already one of the region’s biggest companies in terms of employees; now, it is ready to seize new opportunities such as the development of a proper product to further consolidate its business.
