At BMS Kranar’s premises in Malmö and Helsingborg, customers from the construction market have found the right lifting solution for their buildings projects for more than ten years now. At BMS Kranar’s premises in Malmö and Helsingborg, customers from the construction market have found the right lifting solution for their buildings projects for more than ten years now. Until 2011, the company had operated under the name of TP Kranar before it was acquired by BMS, the Nordic market leader in hiring out mobile cranes with skilled service crews.

“Our focus is on crane jobs in various projects in close cooperation with the customer,” points out Managing Director Anders Rundell. The construction industry is BMS Kranar’s main customer group, despite the fact that the housing market is very low at the moment. Still, BMS Kranar predicts a positive outlook for 2014. “Previously, we mostly worked for the building industry but in order to strengthen our overall position, we decided to spread the risk and expand our services to new market segments,” points out Mr. Rundell. Today, BMS Kranar generates 20 to 25% of its turnover in the industrial sector, taking on lifting jobs for large companies. In the past years, the wind industry has also emerged as a strong new target group. “Our prime focus is always on safety,” stresses Mr. Rundell. “We outline for our customers how we work. So everybody involved knows where the crane should be positioned. Another aspect is the choice of equipment. As we use AutoCAD-calculations, we always find the most appropriate crane solution for the project. We calculate precisely what should be done. It is a very analytic job but our customers appreciate what we are doing.” For BMS Kranar, no customer is too small.

“We have built up longstanding relationships with many customers,” adds Mr. Rundell. “Nevertheless, we are active in a competitive market where safety is often neglected in favour of the price. For us, it is crucial to put up our flag with safety.” BMS Kranar aims at highly ambitious goals. “We want to growth by 50% within the next five years. This might sound presumptuously but we have a strong owner and we have patience to work on our vision of safety. Safety will remain the key to future success,” stresses Mr. Rundell. Another focus will be on environmental issues that are already tackled at the design stage of a crane. “When new cranes come in, we make demands for environmental measures which have to be maintained,” states Mr. Rundell. It seems that BMS Kranar is well prepared to keep its leadership in lifting projects.
