The balance of old and new


“We are a regional bank offering a broad range of common services,” sums up Maria Grazia Scardanzan. “Tradition plays an important role at our bank. We have strong roots, we know our customers very well and we want to be close to them. At the same time, we need to be open-minded. For this reason, we put great emphasis on innovative systems. We offer many new services and technologies but we do not want to lose contact with clients. Tradition on the one hand, innovation on the other. Our challenge is to try to find the perfect balance.”

Cassa Rurale di Rovereto was founded in 1899; since its early days, the bank has felt a sense of social responsibility to its  stakeholders.

“We have always been a strong partner of the Trentino region,” says Marco Cillis. “As a savings bank we are not allowed to operate all over Italy, but eventually we needed to shift our focus towards the Veneto region; this was a huge step. We needed to adapt to a different mentality; a mentality with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Thankfully, this gave us the opportunity to further broaden horizons.”

Today, Cassa Rurale di Rovereto has 132 employees and 20 affiliates; five of them are located in Veneto. “Thanks to our outstanding history and our customeroriented philosophy we can rely on strong customer relationships,” states Mr. Cillis. “We want to support customers and even spoil them. They need to save, spend and transfer money in a secure environment. For this reason, long-term financing is of great importance. It provides safety and a lot more.”

Cassa Rurale di Rovereto offers several additional services that are greatly appreciated. Customers benefit from free consultancy from legal firms for instance.

“We try to be there for our clients,” emphasizes Ms. Scardanzan. “For this reason, corporate clients get the opportunity to showcase products in our front window. Every month, different products are displayed. We are part of the region – just like the mountains. We want to be a reliable and supportive partner of the people living here, and we want to create long-lasting personal banking experiences – despite technologies that allow customers to conduct more and more banking activities while on the go.”
