By definition, radiology is the medical specialty devoted to creating images of the inside of the human body. To do so, radiologists use different energy sources including x-rays, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, nuclear and others to detect internal health problems. Medical imaging technology has advanced to new levels these days, and Centre du Galilée has constantly developed along with those advancements.
“I founded the radiology center 40 years ago,” states Radiologist Dr. René Bokobza. “The group has grown significantly ever since. Step by step, we have established new centers wherever they were needed. In 2010, we opened the latest one in Montrévrain.”
Today, the Centre du Galilée gathers eight radiology centers under its roof – all located in the eastern part of Paris and all focusing on radiology services. “Our aim has always been to support patients and to improve their quality of life,” underlines Dr. Bokobza. “To this aim, we have regularly invested in top-notch medical technology and highly qualified staff.”
Today, 50 employees, among them 20 doctors, look after the well-being of patients. “We do not offer anything special,” says Dr. Bokobza. “We offer a broad array of radiology services from mammography to magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, computed tomography, PET scan and radiography. We have invested largely in advanced medical imaging technology to ensure a full range of personalized radiology services to patients, and we emphasize short-term appointments. Generally, we are able to arrange appointments within a few days. We are relatively flexible and are open even on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.”
Centre du Galilée is a reliable medical partner to people living in the eastern parts of Paris. “We focus on this region,” points out Dr. Bokobza. “Patients from Paris only rarely come to see us. It is important to stress that we do not concentrate on specific social classes. We only see the patient and his personal health issue, and we try to improve his well-being. We provide medical services to the population, to everyone who needs them. I have been working here for 40 years now, and I think that patients from this region greatly benefit from this philosophy.”

Radiology is a medical specialty that is driven by state-of-the-art technology, which develops at a rapid pace. Centre du Galilée has been able to keep up and considers the quality of its technological equipment to be one of its strongest assets.
“We want to be there for our patients,” states Dr. Bokobza. “This is our main driving force. To offer outstanding medical advice, it is important to keep pace with technological innovation. Machinery and equipment are constantly improving, and due to ongoing digitization, more and more working methods are emerging. It is essential to face those challenges.”
Centre du Galilée will continue growing – step by step and reasonably. “We are keen to grow further and do not rule out cooperation,” states Dr. Bokobza. “However, the well-being of each patient will always be our top priority. Radiology is an exciting medical specialty, and research is extremely interesting. It is used in many different types of examinations and procedures and its role is constantly growing. There is a lot going on, and we are thrilled to see what the future of radiology will look like.”
