The purpose of ball bearings is to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. COMPENSA is the leading supplier of ball bearings in Austria with an annual turnover of around 14 million EUR and a workforce of 13 employees.
“We celebrate our 60th anniversary this year and look upon our many years of experience as one of our key strengths,” says Managing Director Christine Brandstätter, whose father founded COMPENSA in 1953. The company is headquartered in Vienna, but its central warehouse and depot are located in Hallein. COMPENSA stocks and trades in a comprehensive range of ball and roller bearings sourced from renowned manufacturers in the Far East.
“Our ball bearings offer excellent value for money for our customers,” insists Ms. Brandstätter. “We regularly visit our suppliers to carry out quality checks.” Exports mainly to Central and Eastern Europe account for around 85% of turnover.
Most of its customers are drawn from the manufacturing industry, where COMPENSA ball bearings are used in escalators and agricultural machinery. The most common type of bearing stocked by COMPENSA is deep groove ball bearings.
In addition, the company stocks self-aligning and angular contact ball bearings, as well as cylindrical, self-aligning and taper roller bearings.
“Whatever the application, we can offer a suitable bearing solution to provide optimum performance for that particular situation,” says Ms. Brandstätter. COMPENSA also offers its customers advanced technical support with regard to calculation, design and selection of the appropriate solution, which may involve modified or customized components.
“Our team develops and produces complete components,” says Ms. Brandstätter. “Whatever our customers require, we can supply.”
