Popular place without price list


The Crystal Hotel in St. Moritz has a long tradition. The four-star hotel was established by the Steiner family from Zurich in 1942. And the family still runs the place today. In 1997, the hotel was completely renovated.

“Since then, we have invested between 500,000 and one million CHF every year to further raise the standard for our guests,” says Marc A. Kilchenmann, General Manager of Crystal Hotels und Restaurants AG and Director of the Crystal Hotel. “At present, we are investing two million CHF in the complete refurbishment of our Wellfit spa and wellness area. The whole place is being renovated and outfitted with the latest equipment, including sauna, steam bath, aroma showers and infrared cabins.”

The Crystal Hotel has a high occupancy rate of 88% in summer; the annual average is 75%. Its 74 rooms and suites are furnished in a cozy Alpine style and offer all the amenities. Run by Chef Alessandro da Como, the hotel’s Grissini restaurant spoils its guests with top-class Mediterranean and Italian cuisine and has been awarded 14 Gault & Millau points.

Situated in the famous resort town of St. Moritz, the Crystal operates in a highly competitive environment with an exceptional hotel density. The four-star hotel is holding its own, though, thanks to a number of unique benefits.

“We are a small gem in the heart of St. Moritz,” states Mr. Kilchenmann. “Our central location is a major advantage. In addition, we have a very fair pricing policy. This relates to everything from the rooms to our wines. We offer quality wines at very affordable prices.”

For room bookings, the Crystal has even completely done away with fixed prices. “We do not have a price list anymore,” explains Mr. Kilchenbaum. “All room rates are calculated on a daily basis and include breakfast, use of the minibar, WLAN access and all wellness offers, without any hidden extra charges.”

The Crystal is a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World association. Another major marketing tool for the Crystal is its modern website, which was relaunched only a short time ago and attracts guests with a best price guarantee for direct bookings of 5% below the well-known Internet booking platforms.
