Making it work


“We are a service company, covering the entire process chain in the information technology sector,” says CEO Daniel Gorostidi. “Our portfolio ranges from consulting, customer-specific software development and system integration to application management. ELCA has just recently attracted great attention in the market through its subsidiary SecuTix SA, which became UEFA’s ticketing partner for EURO 2016. “Between 30 competitors worldwide, UEFA has chosen us as their solution provider in the ticketing sector,” points out Mr. Gorostidi.

“UEFA has chosen our SecuTix 360° solution to implement its new ticketing and hospitality management system. SecuTix 360° has the flexibility, robustness and scalability to meet UEFA’s specific requirements.” SecuTix was founded in 2002 and has become a pioneer in the area of cloud computing, providing software solutions in the fields of events, sport, the arts, live entertainment and the leisure industry.

Among the references of the ticketing solution specialist are the Opéra national de Paris, Musée Picasso, Paléo Festival nyon, Compagnie des Alpes, Consortium Stade de France and Messe Berlin. ELCA has more than 45 years of experience in the information technology sector.

The company was founded in 1968 under the name Electro-Calcul by a team of engineers. “The first application was the computing center to control the facilities of the Grande Dixence dam in the Valais canton,” tells Mr. Gorostidi. “The installation was the first facility with computer-aided process control in Switzerland.”

With the ongoing development of information technology, the service portfolio was continuously expanded. Thanks to its expertise, technological know-how and professionalism, the firm was able to win new customers, aiming at long-term partnerships.

In 1999, the company was restructured within a management-buyout. and a new business model was developed. Since the management buyout, ELCA has grown steadily. Today, the holding has subsidiaries and branches in Zurich, Geneva, Bern, Paris and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, employing a total of more than 600 employees and generating annual revenues of about 95 million CHF.

Moreover, the portfolio comprises enterprise and collaboration portals, mobile applications, IT-security solutions, ticketing solutions and IT-system modernization.

Furthermore, ELCA is fully capable of taking over the operations management of developed solutions on application and systems level, reintegrating these experiences into the development of new solutions.

ELCA offers its services to different industries, for instance, the areas of banking, insurance, healthcare, and events and leisure. The company is also active in the public sector as well as the transportation, energy and manufacturing industries.

“We have many customers, many partners and many markets,” illustrates Mr. Gorostidi. “For this reason, we are very independent. 60% of our revenues are realized with more than 20 clients. We do not depend on one specific customer or industry.”

ELCA Informatique SA focuses on the markets in Switzerland. However, SecuTix SA is active in different countries in Europe. “We will keep on concentrating on the Swiss market, when it comes to our traditional IT services,” explains the CEO. “In the field of ticketing solutions, we also target France, Spain, the UK and Germany. In addition, we have a development office in Vietnam, getting access to offshore resources.”

The company’s service range covers the areas business consulting, IT solution engineering and application management and operation. The IT specialist has knowledge and experience in the implementation of solutions in a broad range of application areas. Among them are architectures, business process management (BPM), enterprise content management (ECM), customer relationship management (CRM) as well as business intelligence (BI) and data management.
