Expertise, quality made in Germany and advanced technology – ETASYN’s ongoing success has always been based on these three pillars. The company’s core competence is the planning, design, manufacturing and testing of application-specific adapters and complete components for electric supply in the range of up to 5 kW power output.
Its products are typically used in medical applications, different industrial fields and the transport industry. ETASYN’s roots date back to 1975 when ELBA electric GmbH, a specialist for switch-mode power supplies, was founded in Oberhausen.
After Germany’s reunification, the company seized the opportunity and established a site in Einsiedel, Saxony. In 1997, internationally operating ELBA was acquired by Computer Products and merged with the American company Zytec.
With ARTESYN one of the world’s largest power supply manufacturers was born. In 2006, ARTESYN was acquired by Astec and incorporated into the Emerson Group. Due to a management buyout initiated by General Manager Andreas Friedrich in 2008, ETASYN became an independent company headquartered in Einsiedel. With the move to Drebach, a new chapter began.
“The medical industry has always had great importance for ETASYN,” states Managing Director Ewald Braith. “To further consolidate our position, in 2006, it was necessary to build up a new engineering department. Now, in Drebach, we benefit from perfect conditions to grow further. Our location is quite distinguished and very attractive for our customers.”
Today, ETASYN is headquartered in Drebach and has sales offices in Vienna and Denmark. 75 employees generate a turnover of nine million EUR.
“After the management buyout, we generated revenues of 3.5 million EUR,” says Mr. Braith. “Over the last two years, we had a growth rate of 15%. Currently, we are expecting growth of 25%. The reason for this dynamic is obvious. We are working on several new projects for medical and industrial applications. As many companies are keen to automatize their warehouses, innovative power supply solutions are becoming more and more important. These are promising market niches and great challenges for us.”
Today, innovative power supply systems include intelligent software solutions as well. Power supply, cables, software – these will be key elements of ETASYN’s product philosophy.
Furthermore, ETASYN is eager to further push its geographic expansion. “By 2020, we expect turnover of 20 million EUR and annual growth 15%,” stresses Mr. Braith. “Apart from medical technologies, industrial applications and the transport industry, we are going to focus on aerospace applications as well. Currently, we are concentrating on the DACH region and somewhat on the United States and Hungary. Now, step by step, we are entering the Scandinavian market and are looking for distribution partners in the Benelux countries, France and Italy. In terms of products, we will concentrate more on manufacturing cables with added value. Our aim is to provide complete solutions and to be the best-in-class partner of our customers.”
