A crush on crushing

“It is one of our main characteristics that we have always been open to new ideas,” says President Christophe Castaldo. “Traditionally, we focused on high-performing machinery for quarrying, which is still an essential activity. But in addition, we started concentrating more and more on the area of recycling because we are convinced that it opens up many interesting opportunities.”

Today, Garonne Concassage Criblage’s portfolio is based on the three pillars of machinery for quarry, recycling and road construction. The company stocks crushers, screeners and conveying systems, among other equipment.

“In 2008, we started importing, distributing and renting quarry machines from Ireland, Switzerland and Italy,” says Mr. Castaldo. “Step by step, we integrated recycling and road construction machinery to offer solutions for different kinds of needs. We not only deal in new machines but also distribute and rent out used ones.”

Along with the ongoing expansion of its portfolio, the company itself changed from an SARL to an SAS. Garonne Concassage Criblage has eight employees now and recorded turnover of ten million EUR. It stresses that it not only offers high-performing machinery but always keeps an eye on services.

“As we consider ourselves a trustworthy partner of our customers, we deliver machines, install them, give instructions on how to use them best and offer training for employees,” points out Mr. Castaldo. “We work with renowned brands such as GIPO in Switzerland or McCloskey in Ireland, which are widely recognized as highly reliable and innovative. The range embraces both fixed machines and mobile ones. In terms of recycling, we are responsible for the installation of complete plants. Those turnkey solutions definitely set us apart from the market.”

Among Garonne Concassage Criblage’s customers are private and public institutions and companies of all different sizes. They appreciate having the opportunity to rent machines for up to three years and to benefit from technical support and after-sales services. In the future, Garonne Concassage Criblage will strengthen its focus on recycling machines and exports. Besides France, the company sees a lot of potential in Algeria, Morocco and the French overseas departments and territories.
