Shaping the global payment solutions market

Portrait

Traditionally rooted in Europe, Ingenico has long grown from the “little genius” in payment terminals to become one of the world’s leading providers of payment solutions.

With more than 20 million terminals deployed in more than 125 countries, the group helps retailers, banks and service providers to optimize and secure their electronic payment solutions, develop their services and increase POS revenues.

Worldwide, about 4,000 employees contribute to revenues in excess of 1.2 billion EUR. Ingenico CZ was established in 2009 and has gained dominant control over the Czech POS market since.

“With our 2012 sales over eight million EUR, we have become one of the most successful small Ingenico subsidiaries,” points out General Manager Nadia Mrnousova, MOB. “Currently we hold a market share of nearly 95% in Czech retail and more than 30% in Slovakia.”

A complete and comprehensive one-stop-shop partner for secure transaction solutions, Ingenico offers payment terminals and terminal estate management, payment applications, connectivity, routing and value-added services. Accounting for the specific payment environment in different sectors, Ingenico CZ provides complementary top-class services such as field support and application-oriented development.

“One of the biggest steps was to migrate to the new Telium platform and convince our partners and customers to join,” points out Ms. Mrnousova. “The new provider has developed proprietary applications to all Ingenico products and greatly facilitated the management of global transactions.”

According to Ms. Mrnousova, the company’s understanding of customers’ needs provides the basis for proprietary POS devices and ambitious software development projects. Ingenico CZ software is used successfully in different sectors including petrol, vending and transport.

“Our development suite enables our partners and customers to build best-in-class payment, business or extra sales applications,” she adds. “We also provide a complete portfolio of more than 2,000 payment and non-payment applications, backed by our central and local development centers.”

Development continues, focusing on contactless technology and corresponding services. Ingenico is the partner of choice in securing current payment transactions and improving business through better payment opportunities, and the Czech subsidiary is determined to support or even enhance this position.
