Ready for a break


It does not come as a surprise that cruise holidays are gaining more and more popularity and are one of the top choices when going on a holiday vacation. More affordable than ever, they offer many unbeatable advantages.

Travellers can visit the most interesting destinations without the hassle of coordinating different travel and accommodation arrangements, they have the chance to visit different places in a relatively short time, and there are always onboard activities that can be enjoyed by everybody. There is a plethora of different cruise offers on the market – which makes it difficult to find the best one for one’s individual needs.

“Our aim is to bring transparency to a market that is characterized by many unclear price arrangements,” says Managing Director Andreas Köster-Clobes. “We can rely on 50 highly qualified and experienced employees who are able to react extremely quickly to customers’ requests.”

Today, great responsiveness is more important than ever. While in the past it was common practise to reply after three or four days, today, customers expect responses much faster. “They basically want real-time chats with a travel agency. Customer demands have changed in many ways,” Mr. Köster-Clobes explains.

“Usually, people do Internet research after work or on weekends, which means that this is exactly the time when we need to do our work as well. As we want to react as quickly as possible, we have created smaller units of five to ten employees that are extremely flexible. They generally work in shifts, and everyone working on Sundays gets a better salary.”

Customers appreciate this approach very much. “Our employees are our greatest asset,” the Managing Director adds. “Everyone knows exactly what he is selling and is highly committed. Regular training is deeply rooted in our business philosophy. Each year, our employees visit eight to ten ships. Additionally they have eight training days. This is the reason why our team is extremely skilled and able to work out the most challenging problems.”

Kreuzfahrtberater operates completely independently, and it comes as no surprise that the company was honoured as one of the best employers among medium-sized enterprises – three times in a row. The travel agency has gained an excellent reputation as it always works out solutions that perfectly meet ever-changing customer demands.

The cruise offer is broad and includes holidays on well-known cruise ships such as AIDA, MSC, Carnival & Princess, Royal Caribbean, Oceania and Hapag-Lloyd. Trips of seven to ten days make up more than 80% of bookings. Routes such as Hamburg-Amsterdam, Hamburg-Copenhagen or Hamburg-Copenhagen-Oslo are extremely popular.

“Our typical customer is 47 years old,” explains Mr. Köster-Clobes. “Most people travel with their families. A cruise market for those travelling on their own does not really exist yet, but we are going to seize these new market opportunities. At the end of the day, our aim is to become an independent consultancy portal for cruise holidays.”
