Polyform SA, based in Limbourg, Belgium, is part of the Aspel Group and is an injection moulding specialist which manufactures moulded plastic components for many different industries. Polyform’s focus is the electrical and electronics market, for example the lighting and connector industry, as well as the defence sector.
The company produces more than ten million plastic parts each month, in various sized batches, using multi-cavity and single-cavity tools. Customer orders range between 500 and 30 million parts per year. The company has a very flexible manufacturing set-up and is able to change models every few hundred parts if necessary, the majority of parts being customized to client requirements.
Polyform works in partnership with mould makers where necessary, and uses around 200 different materials, from simple polypropylene to specialized materials such as VECTRA, in order to offer its clients the widest possible range of options. Approximately 80% of its products are exported, the majority to France but also to Germany and the UK for example.
There are many players in the injection moulding market, however Polyform believes it differentiates itself from the competition in a number of important ways. “Our team has more than 30 years of experience, are specialists in the overmoulding of metal parts, and we can produce complex parts with difficult materials in an economic way,” says Christoph Adrian, General Manager. “We also offer secondary services including assembly of plastic components into complex parts, and ultrasonic welding. Our competences are not uncommon, but that combination is unique.”
Over the next three to five years, Polyform plans to increase its capacity utilization and also to replace some machines to increase versatility, automation and speed. The company’s overarching aim is to continue to build strong relationships with its clients and to play a part in their success.
