Robert Walters is a globally operating, specialist professional recruitment consultancy. The company was founded by Robert Walters in the UK in 1985. Today, the London-based recruitment specialist has offices in 24 countries worldwide and employs over 2,600 people.

The first office in France was established in 1999. “I met Robert Walters and asked him whether he wanted to open an office in France,” explains Antoine Morgaut, CEO of Robert Walters Paris. “The answer was yes, and so I set up Robert Walters in France. Today, France is one of the top five operations in the Group.”

Beside the Paris office, there are offices in Lyon and Strasbourg. Antoine Morgaut has more than 20 years of experience in executive search and professional recruiting. After three years in auditing at Deloitte & Touche, he moved into the financial sector in 1992 and ran the Euro Swaps desk as a partner at Cantor Fitzgerald. After establishing Robert Walters in France, Mr. Morgaut is now CEO for Continental Europe and South America.

Robert Walters is specialized in recruiting specialist professionals and managers at mid- to senior level in selected disciplines, including accounting, banking, compliance and risk management, engineering, human resources, information technology, law, logistics and marketing and sales.

“We have experts with strong backgrounds across all the sectors we cover,” states Mr. Morgaut. “We have leading positions in our specialist niches. In France, for example, we are particularly strong in the financial sector.”

Altogether, Robert Walters France has 250 employees. A second activity of Robert Walters is Walters People which focuses on temporary recruitment in France and a number of other countries. Last but not least, there is Resource Solutions, the Group’s international recruitment outsourcing unit.

Robert Walters is committed to building lasting relationships with both its clients and candidates. “We have candidates who entrust their whole career with us and want all of their job changes handled exclusively by Robert Walters,” says Mr. Morgaut who sees human resources and recruitment in a broader context with a social mission. “We are committed to creating trust in the recruitment market,” the CEO of Robert Walters Continental Europe and South America explains. “The market can only develop and prosper if you have a service provider you can trust.”

The company’s social responsibility also considers gender aspects – the male/female split between candidates put forward and the Group’s own employees is 50/50 – and rejects any form of discrimination with regard to age, social background, religion or sexual orientation.

“We help people find a new job and enterprises to find new staff members, with only one selection criterion in mind: qualification,” Mr. Morgaut describes one important ingredient in the philosophy of Robert Walters.

Another major element of the company’s philosophy is putting the candidate at the center of the process. “We are a people business,” states Mr. Morgaut. “Our utmost priority is respect for the candidate.” Its people-focused philosophy – together with its excellent human resources expertise – has helped Robert Walters achieve a globally leading position in the market for specialist professional recruitment.

“With the Internet and the social media, it is easy today to find information about individual people,” explains Mr. Morgaut. “What distinguishes us, though, is our capability of validating this information, thanks to a network of potential candidates. This way, we can achieve a leading position globally in the specialist professional recruitment market.”
