Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi develops, produces and markets brass ball valves and brass and steel fittings, including customerspecific designs. The company is part of the Bonomi Group, which comprises two other major Italian mechanical engineering businesses: Valpres S.r.l. and Valbia S.r.l. Valpres is specialized in steel and cast-iron ball and butterfly valves for applications in the oil and gas industry, and Valbia manufactures pneumatic and electric actuators.

Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi was founded by Tobia Bonomi in 1901. Today, the medium-sized family enterprise is managed by the third generation of the Bonomi family, represented by Aldo Bonomi and his brother Carlo, and recognized as an international leader in high-quality ball valves for diverse applications.

“When my brother and I joined the company, it was focused on the domestic market only,” says President and General Executive Manager Aldo Bonomi, grandson of the founder. “We then started expanding in ternationally. Today, we are one of the leading suppliers of ball valves in Italy and Europe, with an export share of 55% and customers in more than 40 countries all over the world. Our main export markets are the USA, Germany, the UK, Switzerland, France and Austria.”

The three companies of the Bonomi Group together employ over 300 people and turn over 100 million EUR. In 2014, Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi relocated from Lumezzane to Gussago, which is also in the province of Brescia. At the new site, the company erected a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant equipped with the latest machinery.

“We designed the new plant as a low-energy facility to reduce our environmental footprint,” explains Mr. Bonomi. “It has been certified as a class A production operation and is thus the first green company in the entire region of Lombardy.”

Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi offers a wide range of quality valves and fittings, including ball valves, gas valves and butterfly valves, a special ecology line comprising water valves, check valves, backflow preventers and pressure gear, pipe systems, fittings and accessories.

“Ball valves made of brass are our most important product and account for 50% of our revenues,” states Mr. Bonomi. “Other major product lines are steel ball valves as well as pneumatic and electric actuators, which are made by our sister company Valbia.”

Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi supplies heating and sanitary engineering businesses, industrial manufacturing firms, and the oil and gas industry. The company has sales offices in Germany, the UK, the USA, Canada, Russia and India as well as a small production unit and sales operation in Brazil.

“We want to further expand our presence in existing international markets,” Mr. Bonomi describes the company’s growth strategy. “At the same time, our objective is to develop new markets with strong demand for quality valves, pipe systems and fittings.”

The success of Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi in the international valves and fittings market can be attributed to quality products 100% made in Italy and excellent aftersales services. The company is also constantly looking for new products and applications to provide its customers with everything they need from a single source.

Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi is particularly strong when it comes to developing individually customized solutions. “One of our main assets is our capacity to design and produce tailor-made valves, pipe systems and fittings that 100% meet our customers’ specific requirements,” says Mr. Bonomi. “We cooperate very closely with our customers – and also with our suppliers – to investigate new materials and advanced technologies.”

Last but not least, Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi is continuously investing in new manufacturing equipment to stay ahead of the competition and further expand its technological leadership position in the valves and fittings sector.

Rubinetterie Bresciane Bonomi has been in the hands of the Bonomi family for 114 years. Currently managed by the third generation, the company is preparing for the next generation continuing the Italian success story.

“The fourth generation is already in the starting blocks and taking over more and more responsibility,” states Mr. Bonomi. “This provides our customers, suppliers and employees with the guarantee that our knowhow, which has been acquired over more than a century, will be kept and further developed and extended.”
