The promotion of talent is the key to the success of Twenty First Capital. “With our team of more than 20 highly experienced investment specialists, we bring together the leading experts and best talent in the industry within each asset class,” points out President Stanislas Bernard, who founded the company in 2011. “Our goal is to deliver returns to both our private and institutional clients by investing their assets wisely. We aim to outperform the market and we are collectively demonstrating each day our capacity to reach this objective.”
Twenty First Capital started in August 2011 with 100 million assets under management. Four months later, the company already had 250 million assets. This development continued and today, Twenty First Capital has 700 million assets under management and is thereby among the leading ‘independent’ investment firms in France.
“We started our business at a time when the market was still suffering from the impacts of the financial crisis,” states Mr. Bernard. “However, this situation has proven to be a great opportunity for us. Many investors lost money during the crisis and were looking for an alternative. We were able to offer promising investment solutions.”
In the course of the years, Twenty First Capital was able to convince its customers with its broad portfolio and extensive knowledge of the market, and the business has grown steadily. The company has established subsidiaries in London and Luxembourg and was able to win over LBO France as shareholder, which created additional trust with the customers because LBO (a leading private equity firm in France) is a big and stable market player.
Today, the company has a range of high-performing and specialized funds in different asset classes. The company’s flagship product is the fund ID France Smidcaps, which started with three million EUR and developed to 75 million EUR and is aiming for 200 million EUR in the years to come.
Other investment products are in emerging markets, debts, listed and unlisted corporate bonds, commodities, alternative investments with long/short equity and global macro funds. In the future, the portfolio will become even broader with new products according to the trends in the market.
