Project Solutions at the Highest Level
Interview with Torsten Ussat, Managing Director of BM-Tech GmbH
BM-Tech GmbH has established itself as a leading provider in the field of commissioning of machinery and plant construction. Founded over a decade ago, the company offers highly qualified engineers for international projects, especially in emerging countries.
"We offer a globally available team of experienced specialists who provide reliable and efficient support – right on site, exactly when and where you need it," explains Managing Director Torsten Ussat. BM-Tech GmbH has locations in Germany, the USA, and Bulgaria to meet the global demand for skilled labor. Through a network of engineers, the company can quickly respond to specific customer requirements. This enables customized solutions from installation to commissioning of complex automation systems.
High Employee Satisfaction
Ussat emphasizes that employee satisfaction is key to the company's success. "We have almost no turnover. We must be doing something right," he says. With 48 days of vacation per year and flexible working hours, BM-Tech focuses on the well-being of its employees, which is not common in the industry
Of course, these measures help to retain highly skilled professionals in the long term.
Diversity of Industries and Expertise
BM-Tech is not limited to one industry. "We operate in the beverage, automotive, and wood product industries," explains Ussat. The expertise in various industries allows the company to share experiences and best practices, which improves the efficiency and quality of projects. The CEO explains that the challenges in different industries are often similar, which highlights the company's adaptability.
Technological Advancement
Another advantage of BM-Tech is the integration of cutting-edge technologies into everyday work. Ussat mentions that the company began using online support for equipment with camera glasses years ago. This allows for quick on-site problem solving and reduces travel costs. "We want to take responsibility and optimize our customers' value chains with our knowledge," he says.
Future Outlook and Challenges
BM-Tech is optimistic about the future, especially with regards to its expansion into the USA and other international markets. However, the managing director warns of the challenges posed by the shortage of skilled workers and inadequate framework conditions in Germany. "The tax burden in Germany is a disaster. A Bulgarian company has a flat tax rate of 10%, while we are significantly higher," criticizes Ussat. This competitive distortion makes it difficult to attract highly qualified engineers to Germany.
