In just five years, Geekplus, a leading company in the field of robotics and automation, has become one of the market leaders in fulfillment solutions in Europe. In an interview with Wirtschaftsforum, Andrés Espuelas, Marketing Manager EMEA, provides insights into the impressive development of the company and its innovative solutions.

Wirtschaftsforum: Mr. Espuelas, Geekplus has experienced impressive growth over the past few years. What are the most important milestones during this period?

Andrés Espuelas: Our Chinese parent company is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and for a company in the robotics field, that's a considerable period of time. Geekplus was founded in China ten years ago, and we have been active in the EMEA region for five years. Our major milestones include the launch of our first projects in 2020 and adapting to the challenges brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. We have grown from a small team in Germany with around 100 employees in the EMEA region to having over 1,500 employees worldwide.

Wirtschaftsforum: What role does the e-commerce market play for Geekplus?

Andrés Espuelas: The e-commerce market is crucial for us, as many of our customers come from this sector. Our solutions are designed to maximize efficiency in warehouses, which is particularly important for e-commerce businesses. We offer a wide range of solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients, regardless of their company size.

Wirtschaftsforum: How does Geekplus differentiate itself in the market?

Andrés Espuelas: Our greatest strength lies in our extensive portfolio of solutions for intra-logistics. We offer not just products, but customized solutions tailored to the individual requirements of our customers and scalable as needed. Additionally, we have built a strong network of partners in the EMEA region to meet diverse market demands.

Wirtschaftsforum: Can you tell us more about the new products that were introduced at Logimat?

Andrés Espuelas: At Logimat, we introduced four new solutions: the Robot Shuttle and RS Air Next Generation, the PopPick Lite Goods-to-Person picking solution, and the latest version of the Sky Cube. These products are characterized by their high efficiency and flexibility, specifically designed for various warehouse requirements. For example, the Robot Shuttle can transport both bags and boxes, significantly optimizing warehouse capacity.

Wirtschaftsforum: What challenges do you see in the industry, and how is Geekplus responding to them?

Andrés Espuelas: One of the biggest challenges is the skilled labor shortage in the logistics sector for picking operations. Our solutions automate repetitive tasks, allowing employees to focus on value-adding activities. Moreover, our systems help optimally use the available space in warehouses, which is of great importance in times of rising real estate prices.

Wirtschaftsforum: How do you deal with the different cultural and regional requirements in the EMEA region?

Andrés Espuelas: It is important to understand the local markets and to acknowledge that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. We adapt our strategies to the specific needs of each country and work closely with our partners to create a consistent brand identity.

Wirtschaftsforum: What role does digitalization play in your company?

Andrés Espuelas: Digitalization is a central component of our strategy. We use modern technologies to constantly improve our solutions and increase efficiency in our customers' warehouses. Our systems are designed to be flexible and scalable, so they can adapt to changing customer requirements.

Wirtschaftsforum: What values are important to you in the company?

Andrés Espuelas: We place great emphasis on a customer-oriented corporate culture. Our goal is to exceed our customers' expectations and help them optimize their business processes. In addition, we promote a positive work environment for our employees to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.

Wirtschaftsforum: What message would you like to send to potential customers and partners?

Andrés Espuelas: We invite everyone to get in touch with us and learn more about our innovative solutions. Geekplus is not just a provider of robotic solutions, but a partner ready to grow with its customers and face challenges together. We look forward to shaping the future of logistics together.
