In conversation with Udo Sommer, we learn more about the challenges and future visions of the company.
Sommer Kompressoren GmbH has developed from a pure provider of compressed air systems into a versatile service provider under the leadership of Udo Sommer. "In 2006, we changed suppliers and moved to a new location. From then on, we could act very differently in the market," explains Udo Sommer. With the new building in 2023, the infrastructure could be significantly expanded, which allows the company to work more efficiently and customer-oriented.
Innovative Business Areas and Expansion
Sommer Kompressoren offers customized solutions for various industries, from compressed air to refrigeration technology. A special focus is on the turnkey provision of products from a single source, including product delivery, assembly, wiring, and commissioning. "Our goal is to offer the customer a complete package," emphasizes the managing director. The company is particularly proud of its sustainable approaches and continuous development.
Challenges and Future Visions
A key characteristic of the company is the low turnover within the workforce and the long-standing customer relationships. "We maintain very close contact with our customers, most relationships have been in place for over 20 years," explains Udo Sommer. However, dealing with the younger generation and knowledge deficits poses a challenge.
Nevertheless, the company stays on the ball through constant training and education. With a clear focus on continuous development and attracting new customers, Sommer Kompressoren looks optimistically to the future. "Our goal is to continually grow with existing customers and to explore new markets," says Udo Sommer. The air conditioning systems sector still offers a lot of potential, and the company plans to further expand its activities in this segment. Constant changes in regulations by politics do bring disturbance, but Sommer Kompressoren remains flexible and adaptable. "Our company consists of the people who work in it. They are the backbone of our business," emphasizes Udo Sommer.
