GaLaBau 2026: The Green Sector Becomes Climate Fit
From September 15 to 18, 2026, the Nuremberg Exhibition Center becomes the meeting point for garden, landscape, and sports field construction. The focus is on climate adaptation, sustainability, and skilled workers, for the first time complemented by a dedicated space for digitalization and AI.
Europe's leading trade fair for the planning, construction, and maintenance of urban green and open spaces returns to Nuremberg. For four days, GaLaBau at the exhibition center showcases the entire spectrum of the industry: from construction and maintenance machinery to building materials and plants, to the equipment of playgrounds, sports, and golf courses. It is organized by NürnbergMesse, every two years.
Under the guiding theme 'Climate-fit for the future', the fair focuses on three main areas: climate-adapted cities against heat and heavy rain, strategies against the shortage of skilled workers, and technology intended to make companies more productive. Climate change and staff shortages put pressure on both companies and municipalities alike.
The first program highlights are already set. The GREEN-BLUE PATH spans across the venue making visible how water and greenery work together for cooler cities; guided tours explain solutions directly on the object. In the E-Mobility Area, manufacturers demonstrate electric machines and vehicles that are supposed to reduce CO2 emissions on construction sites. New this time is the FUTURE SPACE, a premiere focused on digitalization and AI: from AI-supported planning tools to paperless processes and new ways of recruitment. Live demonstrations on earth-moving and land care are showcased in the outdoor area, while the youth compete in the Landscape Gardener Cup. The technical program includes lectures, discussion rounds, and live formats such as the Landscape Talks and the Experts Forum.
For the economy, GaLaBau is more than just a showcase. Green infrastructure becomes a hard location factor: cities and municipalities invest in climate adaptation, biodiversity and quality of stay, and garden and landscape construction provide the respective solutions. Those planning contracts, procuring machinery, or looking for staff will meet decision-makers and see the innovations first-hand over four days in Nuremberg. This makes the trade fair an essential orientation point for the middle class and municipalities in the green sector.
