Well Promoted: Reaching New Heights with the Right Technology
Interview with Marian Frick, Managing Partner of AMIG GmbH & Co. KG
Whether it's new construction, modernization, or complex high-rise projects – wherever elevators are needed, the experts from AMIG GmbH & Co. KG in Nonnweiler, Saarland, are in demand for their long-standing experience and expertise. The planning office has made a name for itself with challenging projects in elevator planning – and aims to reach even higher in the future.
The development of the company is closely linked to the founder Rudi Becker, who built AMIG up over many years as a successful sole proprietorship. After the entry of Patrick Müller in 2018, both continued to develop the company, driven by common principles such as sustainability, quality, reliability, and quick responsiveness. Since 2020, the team has grown to five experienced planners, including the current managing partner Marian Frick. He emphasizes the exceptional industry knowledge of the staff: "With five people, we have 150 years of experience in elevator construction." Many employees come from families that have been active in the industry for generations. With this expertise and the best industry knowledge, AMIG has carved out a special position in the elevator planning sector, especially in complex high-rise projects and traffic analysis.
Stay Flexible
In its core business, the company remains broadly diversified: "We plan elevators in new constructions and in modernization, approximately in a 50 to 50 ratio," says Marian Frick. The range extends from clinics to office and residential buildings to skyscrapers. At the same time, the area of automated bicycle and car parking systems is gaining importance, as denser construction requires new solutions. The technological environment is dynamically developing. Modern facilities can be fully monitored, diagnosed, and optimized via destination control systems. However, a manufacturer-neutral approach remains important in order to ensure long-term economic efficiency and flexibility. Continuous technical development and close exchanges with manufacturers ensure that AMIG can integrate innovations into the planning at an early stage – a foundation for sustainable quality, but also for long-term operational security. For the coming years, Marian Frick defines clear growth targets: "Our goal is to have about ten specialist planners, distributed across Germany and possibly Austria or Switzerland."
Besides healthy expansion, his vision is to continue realizing challenging projects. He thinks about particularly tall skyscrapers: "A skyscraper around 500 m high would be a personal dream." For Marian Frick, his own motivation is closely linked to his passion for the subject: "I turned my hobby into my profession," he says. Each project brings new challenges, especially in modernization, where existing facilities must be replaced with contemporary solutions. "If the customer is satisfied, that is an absolute highlight for me," he emphasizes.
