From October 20 to 23, 2026, glasstec in Düsseldorf will bring together the international industry. Companies from 48 countries have announced their participation. The fair covers the entire value chain: from glass production and engineering to processing and finishing, and applications in architecture and crafts. Professional visitors can compare technologies from different manufacturers side by side and prepare concrete investment decisions.
Energy consumption becomes a key issue
Glass production is energy-intensive. Accordingly, the industry is pressing the issue of how production processes can be decarbonized without losing sight of economic efficiency and product quality. At glasstec, technologies and concepts that can reduce energy consumption and emissions will be showcased. In addition, new methods for production and processing are introduced. The focus is on glass solutions for resilient buildings and critical infrastructures. With this, glasstec addresses a topic that is gaining importance in light of new security requirements for buildings and infrastructure. Glass must not only fulfill design and energy requirements, but increasingly also protective functions. Architecture therefore remains an important part of the fair. In the architecture forum, architectural firms present projects and developments related to building envelopes and structural glass applications.
New Networking Format Women in Glass
With Women in Glass, a new format is being introduced in 2026. It aims to make female professionals and executives in the glass industry more visible and to promote exchange within the international network. Young companies have the opportunity through Start-up Sessions and the Start-up Zone to present new technologies and business models to decision-makers in the industry.
