eMotion HUSUM 2026: Electric Mobility to Try and Touch
Electric mobility is long more than choosing between combustion engine and electric car. Charging infrastructure, power supply, financing, and range are just as important as new forms of mobility on two wheels. How the transition can work in practice will be demonstrated on September 26 and 27, 2026 at eMotion HUSUM. The new public fair at the Messe Husum & Congress combines vehicles and technology with consultation, expert lectures, and numerous opportunities to try out.
The focus is on electric cars and e-bikes as well as charging infrastructure, intelligent energy systems, and services related to financing and insurance. Various regional providers will bring their solutions together in one place. Admission is free on both days of the exhibition.
From E-Car to E-Bike
Those considering switching to electromobility quickly face practical questions. Which vehicle fits one's daily life? What range is actually needed? Where can one charge, and what costs are involved? At eMotion HUSUM, visitors can not only view vehicles but also experience electromobility firsthand. Test drives with e-cars and a practice course for e-bikes are planned. Regional car dealerships and bicycle experts will present various models and are available for questions. Thus, the exhibition expressly also targets people who have little experience with electric mobility so far.
Charging infrastructure becomes a crucial issue
Because buying a vehicle is only part of the transition. At least equally important is the question of how charging can be organized at home, on the go, or at work. Exhibitors therefore include not only vehicle providers. The city utilities of Husum, S.A.T. GmbH for solar and alternative technologies, Grenzland Bürgerenergie eG, and DEKRA are also represented. Accompanying expert lectures deal with topics such as bidirectional charging, the charging infrastructure in Schleswig-Holstein, and the peculiarities of e-bikes. Bidirectional charging in particular shows how closely mobility and energy supply could converge in the future: electric vehicles are not only supplied with electricity but can potentially become part of an intelligent energy system themselves.
Electromobility for the whole family
The eMotion HUSUM is not seen exclusively as a technical or sales fair. The event character also carries weight. While adults can test vehicles or learn about charging and energy solutions, there is a special program for younger visitors. In addition to bounce houses, this includes a small Bobbycar racetrack. Electromobility is thus not only explained but also experienced as a family theme. The culinary needs of the visitors are also catered for: there is a barbecue cart and a crêpe stand on site.
Guidance rather than technical debate
For newcomers, the plethora of new terms, technologies, and tariff models can make the entry into electromobility complicated. A regional fair can offer an advantage here: vehicles, energy providers, infrastructure, and services can be compared in one place, and specific questions can be directly clarified with experts. The eMotion HUSUM – Days of E-Mobility takes place on September 26 and 27, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Messe Husum & Congress, Am Messeplatz 12–18. Admission is free. This premiere is aimed at people who are already using electric vehicles and those who have only considered making the switch. Whether it's an electric car, an e-bike, or your own charging solution: in the end, it's less the theory than the question of which solution fits one's personal daily life.
