A Strong Partner for Craftsmanship and Technology
Interview with Bernhard Furcht, Managing Director of ASI Anlagen, Service, Instandhaltung GmbH
Services in building technology, facility management, and system service are essential for the smooth operation of modern buildings and industrial plants. Here, efficiency, sustainability, and the assurance of operational safety are paramount. With their broad expertise, strong regional roots, and focus on sustainable energy solutions, ASI Anlagen, Service, Instandhaltung GmbH remains an indispensable size in the Jena region and beyond.
ASI Anlagen, Service, Instandhaltung GmbH, based in Jena, has always stood for quality, reliability, and innovation, and has become one of the leading craft service providers in Thuringia. With over 390 employees and a broad range of services, the company caters to both private and commercial customers.
A Success Story in Jena
The roots of ASI go back to the year 1995, when the company was founded through outsourcing by Carl Zeiss in Jena. Originally known as Niersberger GmbH, ASI then took on numerous employees from Gleittechnik GmbH and grew continuously. A turning point was the acquisition of the Facility Management at the Beutenberg Campus in 2000, a project that the company managed until 2019. With the sale to Stadtwerke Jena in 2004, ASI remained autonomous but was able to significantly expand its portfolio. Today, the company is one of the largest craft service providers in the region and serves a wide range of technical and craft services. 'There is no craft issue we cannot cover – both in the industrial and in the building management areas,' says Bernhard Furcht, who has been the sole managing director since 2016. 'One of our particular strengths lies in the combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technologies.'
Social Responsibility and Sustainable Growth
A particular concern for Bernhard Furcht and his team is the social responsibility the company assumes. ASI is involved in numerous social projects, especially to support children and young people. "We are aware of our responsibility as employers and service providers," explains Bernhard Furcht. This close connection to the region is also evident in the long-term cooperation with Stadtwerke Jena and the management of around 14,000 apartments. Flexibility and adaptability are further central success factors for ASI. "We can quickly adapt to new topics and tailor our services to current requirements," explains Bernhard Furcht. "Customer satisfaction is always at the center. It is our lifeblood."
Future Technologies and Sustainability in Focus
Looking ahead, ASI is well-equipped to remain a leading provider in the fields of craftsmanship and technology in the coming years. Renewable energies, as well as digitalization, play an increasingly important role. "Artificial intelligence will be a major topic for us in the coming years," explains Bernhard Furcht. The use of AI, for example in ERP systems, is intended to further increase efficiency and open up new possibilities. Another major topic is municipal district heating, the future redevelopment of which Bernhard Furcht expects will provide much work. One thing he particularly hopes for is: "It would be nice if the government would provide more support to small and medium-sized enterprises." Despite the challenges, he is optimistic about the future and emphasizes that ASI will continue to act as a reliable partner for both industry and private customers.
