At the beginning of September, Berlin will once again be a meeting point for the international technology industry. From September 4 to 8, 2026, the IFA will bring together manufacturers, retailers, start-ups, professional visitors, creators, and tech enthusiasts at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. This year's focus will primarily be on artificial intelligence, robotics, connected household appliances, new consumer electronics, and the growing creator economy. The fair is increasingly set on not just presenting new technologies, but making them directly experiential.

For trade visitors, the venue opens daily from 9:30 AM. Private visitors can access the fair from 12 PM on Friday and from 10 AM from Saturday to Tuesday.

Humanoid Robots to Become the Highlight of the Fair

One of the most striking focuses in 2026 is likely to be robotics. In the innovation area IFA Next, the fair will showcase more humanoid robots than ever before, according to its own statements. Companies aim to demonstrate how robots are increasingly moving from laboratories and industrial environments into everyday life. For example, NEURA Robotics, a German robotics specialist, will present what is called Physical AI: Artificial Intelligence, sensors, and robotics are combined to enable machines to perceive their surroundings, learn, and collaborate with humans. At "Robots on the Runway", humanoid robots will even make an appearance on the catwalk themselves.

AI Moves into Kitchens, Households, and Gardens

Artificial Intelligence is now a central topic in traditional household appliances. At the Home Appliance Show Area, companies like Miele, Bosch, Siemens, Electrolux, Liebherr, Haier, Midea, Jura, Kärcher, and Dreame showcase new devices and applications. The range includes intelligent kitchens and connected household appliances to AI-supported helpers and smart solutions for gardens and outdoor areas. Individual connected devices are increasingly becoming part of larger systems intended to combine energy consumption, comfort, and automation.

Content Creation Gets Significantly More Space

In 2026, IFA will also significantly expand its area for Content Creation. The exhibition space will grow by 70 percent and for the first time, it will be spread across two halls. Cameras, drones, lenses, storage solutions, lighting and studio technology, and applications for VR, AR, and AI-supported editing will be presented. In the Creator Hub at the Palais am Funkturm, content creators, brands, and media will meet. Streaming studios, stages, brand activations, and networking opportunities will demonstrate how professional the creator economy has become.

IFA Podcast Days Bring Popular Formats to the Stage

New to this year's event, the IFA Podcast Days from September 4 to 7. Formats such as Fast & Curious, PietSmiet, Mord auf Ex, KI-Updatet, and further podcasts will be produced live on various stages of the exhibition grounds. On Sunday, September 6, the IFA Summer Garden will be transformed into an open-air podcast festival. Additionally, the program will be expanded for professional visitors. For retail professionals, the IFA will open the Retail Innovation Zone: new sales concepts, omnichannel strategies, repair, logistics, and supply chains. Buyers and planners in the retail sector will find materials for concrete assortment and service decisions. In parallel, from September 5 to 7, the IFA Global Markets event will run. The B2B platform brings together manufacturers and suppliers from over 20 countries with buyers and decision-makers. The focus will be on components, sensors, semiconductors, manufacturing solutions, as well as AI, sourcing trends, and new requirements for international supply chains.

Technology to Be Experimented With

With the IFA Moments, the 2026 expo will increasingly focus on interactive offerings: an expanded Beauty Lab, the Creator Hub, start-up pitch competitions, and for the first time, the IFA Playbox as a distinct experience world for families with children up to twelve years old. Humanoid robots will be included, as well as repair, refurbishment, and circular economy models. IFA 2026 will take place from September 4 to 8 on the grounds of Messe Berlin. The pivotal question for 2026 is: How much of AI and robotics will then actually be purchasable, deployable, calculable, and how much of it will still be just exhibition decoration?
