Safety and Trust in Global Product Sourcing
Interview with Jan Silanoglu, Managing Director and Max Silanoglu, Managing Director of Line Up Handels GmbH
Those looking for a reliable partner with excellent contacts to manufacturing facilities in Asia among other places will find what they need at Line Up Handels GmbH. Established as a family business from Mönchengladbach with its own branch in China and long-standing, reliable networks, Line Up positions itself as your trustworthy partner for reliable sourcing.
Having the right contacts accelerates reaching the goal. And Line Up Handels GmbH has the right contacts. After all, the family-owned company has been in the business for more than 30 years and supports its partners with a variety of services. Whether it's consulting, sampling, or mass production, quality control, import handling, or logistics: the company from Mönchengladbach always has the right solution. "We are personal, fast, cost-efficient, solution-oriented, and reliable," says Max Silanoglu, listing several reasons why customers choose Line Up as a partner. "Depending on the urgency of the order, we can access different delivery routes. In addition to standard shipping via sea container, we can also fetch partial quantities by air freight if needed. We are always in personal exchange with our customers and look for the optimal solution for them."
Generational Change
Currently, the generational change is an important topic at Line Up: Since October 1, 2024, Line Up Handels GmbH will be taken over by the next generation. However, the aim that spans generations is to continually evolve as a procurement partner, further digitalize, and provide customers with even more benefits through simple and transparent processes. With the generational change, Line Up is setting the course for a successful future. Jan and Max Silanoglu are stepping into big shoes, yet they are well-prepared to continue the family business with fresh ideas and a strong foundation. Traditions are preserved while new innovative paths are taken to steer the company towards a promising future. The coming decades promise exciting developments – in harmony with the proven Line Up values. To make processes as transparent and efficient as possible, digitalization is increasingly occupying a large space in the processes of Line Up.
"We are highly digitalized," says Max Silanoglu. "And that's exactly what my brother and I as the next generation want to bring into the company. Hence, we are developing an in-house Line Up-Dashboard that has already digitalized our entire range of services and into which we will gradually integrate more functions." Given societal sensitivity, the issue of sustainability is also becoming increasingly important. "All of our production partners are regularly audited by us with regard to sustainability," emphasizes Jan Silanoglu. "Moreover, we have developed our own tool that displays the CO2 emissions during transportation."
Spectrum Expanded
Although the origins of Line Up lie in the textile industry, the spectrum has significantly expanded over time. "Our parents quickly realized that our service could also be applied to other industries," explains Max Silanoglu. "That's why we see ourselves as cross-industry procurement partners. Everything that is implemented in the manufacturing industry, we see as potential for us. We still procure textiles, but also components for mechanical engineering. We also manufacture many parts for the construction industry, including steel, aluminum, and injection molding." "Currently, there are two major product areas," adds Jan Silanoglu. "One is ready-to-sell goods, the other is components that are further processed in the production process."
Networks Expanded
Line Up customers benefit directly from the extensive range of services along the entire value chain by utilizing the network established by Line Up. "In more than 30 years, we have continuously deepened and expanded our business relationships," explains Jan Silanoglu. "That's why we know our partners well and can also meet the quality demands of our customers." For the German clients, Line Up is always the direct contact. Each order is unique; this applies to trading goods as well as manufactured parts.
Branch in China
In 1992, the two apparel engineers Mustafa Silanoglu and his wife Helga Tigges-Silanoglu founded their company Line Up with a focus on sourcing textiles for Germany. In 1998, they established their own location in China to better monitor the production and quality at partner facilities. Over the following years, the product and service range was steadily expanded. Clients of the company, which has ten employees at the headquarters in Mönchengladbach and five more in the Chinese branch, include companies of all sizes.
Many Recommendations
"For us, personal contact is always at the forefront of everything we do," emphasizes Jan Silanoglu. "That is exactly what we convey to our customers: that they always have an individual contact person whom they can contact at any time. Despite all modern technologies, we – also from the customer's perspective – consider this very important, as it gives them more security and builds trust." In the future, Line Up will also present itself at trade fairs to reach more customers.
