The construction sector is currently facing major challenges: Rising raw material prices, shortage of skilled workers, and strict environmental regulations shape the daily life of many construction companies. At the same time, technological innovations and a focus on sustainability open up new opportunities. In this dynamic environment, Growe Hagemeier GmbH asserts itself as a reliable and innovative partner in construction.

The Growe Hagemeier GmbH, a family-operated company from Beelen, has been managed by the married couple Martin Thomas and Petra Hagemeier since 2007. “Our goal was to continuously grow without losing the family atmosphere,” explains Martin Thomas Hagemeier. With 36 employees, the firm has now successfully established itself in the market. The range of services offered by Growe Hagemeier GmbH is impressively diverse. Besides industrial construction and traditional residential building, the company also operates in agriculture and in the field of concrete restoration. “We are problem solvers and are often called when it comes to challenging construction projects,” emphasizes Martin Thomas Hagemeier.

Innovative Construction Projects and Sustainable Development

A particularly remarkable project was the construction of a 32-meter-high staircase tower for a Raiffeisen milling plant, which was even featured on WDR. Equally significant was the cooling system overhaul at Heidelberg Zement, where the company processed over 1,000 m3 of concrete under challenging conditions. This versatility and the ability to quickly adapt to changing market conditions have made the firm robust against the turbulence of recent years. “We survived the banking crisis in 2008 and the corona pandemic well by being flexible and finding innovative solutions,” reports Petra Hagemeier.

Innovative and rather unusual in the industry is also the fact that Growe Hagemeier organizes its construction site operations through a software developed in-house. “Viaplano originated from our daily practice,” tells Petra Hagemeier. “Originally, the software was only intended for internal use to plan our operations, but other companies became interested in it, so we now offer it as an app. The development of Viaplano is certainly a very special step in our company history.” Besides innovation, sustainability is also a central theme for Growe Hagemeier GmbH. “We're on the verge of introducing a comprehensive sustainability management, even though our company size does not obligate us to do so,” says Petra Hagemeier.

Future Planning and Generational Change

The future of Growe Hagemeier GmbH looks promising, especially since a careful handover to the next generation is imminent. “We are planning to gradually hand over the operation to our son Patrick, who is already involved in construction management. We rely on our qualified employees, who are the company’s greatest asset,” explains Martin Thomas Hagemeier. “We cannot, and do not want to, imagine a future without these qualified employees.” The fixed points of contact, who ensure that projects run smoothly and efficiently, are another part of the company. Despite the upcoming changes, this solid foundation enables Growe Hagemeier GmbH to continue its role as a reliable partner in the construction industry and to confidently face new challenges in the future.
