Technology companies are always developing new products, services, and solutions that make our way of living, working, and communicating easier. They contribute significantly to both digitalization and technological evolution and play an important role in modern society. Through pioneering research, groundbreaking development, and a passion for excellence, WEETECH has made it its mission to simplify the world through transformative technologies and ensure the safety of human lives.

WEETECH GmbH was founded in 1973 in Wertheim, with WEE standing for 'Wertheim Electronic Development'. The company started with the development of wiring testers for cable assemblies of soldering machines and automobiles.

With a strong partner towards a successful future

Among the customers of the Wertheim technology company were, already at that time, companies like Kabelwerke Reinshagen, later Delphi – today APTIV – whose cables were tested with WEETECH's testing systems. "This led to the development of a market that we specialized in and where we could apply our expertise. This was the milestone that gave us the direction for the future market," says Martin Gehrig, who has been Managing Director at WEETECH since 2019. The international orientation led to the company name being changed to 'Wertheim Electrotest Engineering'.

Another milestone was the development of the new W 454 systems. "An innovative modular system with strong software behind it, which allows addressing the diverse requirements of the customers," adds Martin Gehrig.

With know-how to international success

Since October 2022, WEETECH GmbH has been part of the Halma Group. The company currently employs nearly 120 staff and had a turnover of 22 million EUR in the year before last. The last fiscal year was the best in the company's history. WEETECH has a very high market share in both Germany and Europe. The future growth potential is seen outside of Europe.

"We are currently working on a strategy to tap into the potentials in the international market. North America and Asia are very dynamic markets with high growth. Our group companies in the USA, Italy, and China support us,", says Sedat Sezgün, who has also been a managing director at WEETECH since 04/01/2023. Moreover, there are cable harness manufacturers in North Africa and in the Balkan states, which can be very lucrative," adds the graduate electrical engineer.

Market Challenges

Currently, there is a paradigm shift in electrification, moving from low voltage testing to high voltage testing. "Furthermore, we are dealing with AI, as we see many opportunities in data utilization and can offer our customers better support. Information security is always a critical issue," reports Martin Gehrig.

Strengths of WEETECH GmbH

One of the major strengths of the Wertheim company is the know-how, which it has acquired over the last 51 years. "It sets us apart that we have both the expertise in low and high voltage besides our first-class products. We also have a flexible software platform that is continuously optimized and adapted to our customers' needs by our 22 developers," says Sedat Sezgün. Due to its broad positioning and high quality, the company was able to attract global players with whom it grows together. "Another advantage is that we have always been able to deliver. We have always managed to meet our customer's schedules - even during the pandemic. This has allowed us to gain some new customers over the past few years," adds Martin Gehrig.

Groundbreaking Developments

The products of WEETECH GmbH are used in four industries: automotive, aerospace, transportation, and manufacturing. All products can be used for cable and functional testing. "We are currently in the launch phase with the W 850 HF system for testing data cables. Our unique selling point is that we can integrate it into our testing environment and the customer receives a complete report. Another area where we are leading is the detection of short, temporary interruptions. Our bestsellers include the low-voltage test system WK 260, as well as in the high-voltage range the portable testers W 434 and W484 and the W 454 family—our large system,” emphasizes Martin Gehrig.

Company Philosophy and Corporate Culture

At WEETECH, honest dealings with customers, partners, and colleagues are highly valued.
"We live a global and open company culture. We have a clear corporate strategy, which serves as the foundation for our marketing communication strategy. The focus is on digitalization, the continuous improvement process (CIP), and motivating our employees,” adds Simone Kießecker, who is responsible for global marketing.
