The Wiese Group has established itself as a significant player in the field of special vehicle construction and the sale and rental of commercial vehicles. With a wide range of services from manufacturing to sales and rentals, the company offers its customers tailored solutions. "Our goal is to offer everything from a single source," explains Dirk Wiese, one of the company's managing directors.

Founded in 1989, Wiese GmbH began as a repair service for commercial vehicles. "In the mid-1990s, we started with vehicle construction and in the early 2000s with the sale of external commercial vehicle brands. Currently, we have more than ten different trade brands in our portfolio, including well-known brands such as Knapen Trailers, Benalu, Kässbohrer, and Krone," reports Dirk Wiese. A milestone was the foundation of Wiese Trailer Rent in 2010, which today complements the business with 850 rental units and offers all leading commercial vehicle brands for rental. Today, the group consists of several companies and is run as a family business by Dirk, Burkhard, and Alexander Wiese. Currently, about 100 employees are employed and a group turnover of approximately 65 million EUR is achieved.

Diverse Manufacturing Techniques

The company offers a wide range of manufacturing techniques to meet the diverse requirements of its customers. These include steel and sheet metal processing, sandblasting and painting, as well as frame alignment. With state-of-the-art machines and specialized tools, the company can produce custom special vehicles and constructions according to customer specifications.

The types of vehicles offered include customized trailers, crane vehicles, and expedition motorhomes, among others. In addition, the company places great emphasis on comprehensive after-sales service. This includes not just delivery and orientation of the vehicles, but also training for users and a reliable repair service that ensures the vehicles are always operational. "Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with our customers and support them at every stage," adds IT Sales Manager Daniel Moritz.

Innovation and Digitalization

A key factor in success is the continuous adaptation to new technologies. "In recent years, we have made significant investments in IT and digital solutions," reports Daniel Moritz. This includes, among other things, the implementation of a modern inventory management system and the use of 3D design techniques. "Nowadays, nothing works without digitalization," adds Dirk Wiese.

Social Responsibility

In addition to economic performance, the Wiese Group places great importance on social responsibility. "We provide every employee with an E-Smart and have been heating with wood since 2010. We have also installed photovoltaic systems," reports Dirk Wiese. The company is also active in the region by supporting local sports clubs and committing to environmental conservation. "We try to be a good employer and provide our employees with a pleasant working environment," explains Wiese.

Challenges and Future Perspectives

Despite positive developments, the company also faces challenges. "The industry is currently quiet, and many major providers have implemented short-time work. However, we are well positioned since we operate in various sectors," says Dirk Wiese. The company's diversification has proven advantageous in cushioning economic fluctuations.

For the future, the family business plans to grow and expand its market position. 'We are focusing on European expansion and want to further develop our services in the special area and in trade,' explains Dirk Wiese. The upcoming infrastructure projects in Germany could offer additional opportunities to increase the demand for commercial vehicles. With a clear focus on customer satisfaction and a strong market presence, the company is well-equipped to continue to be successful in the future. 'Our motivation is to work together with our employees and customers on solutions and to further develop the company,' summarizes Dirk Wiese.
