The Uelzen-based wolkenhof GmbH offers bundled expertise to its clients from various industries. In just a few years, the young company has developed into a powerful corporate group. Sustainability plays a key role in all areas of activity – as well as transparency and fairness with clients.

When asked about the particular strengths of wolkenhof GmbH, CEO Nikolai Hofmeister does not hesitate: "We are a very transparent, service-oriented, and nationally active company. Partnership on equal terms with our customers means a lot to us. Our competencies span three business areas: Greencloud, IT, and Office. Since sustainability is very important to us, it is also found in all areas. We don't force it on anyone, but can offer support if interested."

With its own sustainably operated data center Greencloud, wolkenhof has been offering the comprehensive services of a data center since 2018: from cloud backup to complete infrastructure. Another business area is acting as an IT systems house, where independent customer consulting is the focus. Last but not least, the Office area covers the fields of office planning, office furniture, printing & copying systems with maintenance contracts, and document management.

Mergers and Acquisitions

wolkenhof GmbH was created from the merger of three companies in the IT and office equipment sector and further acquisitions. The company currently employs 63 people, generates a revenue of 7.6 million EUR, and is present in Uelzen as well as in Bremen and Geesthacht with branches.

"We have a broad setup and operate independently of any industry," the CEO outlines the target group. "We have customers ranging from small craft businesses to industrial companies." For Nikolai Hofmeister, artificial intelligence (AI) is an important contemporary issue: "AI will accompany all of us in the future: We are already pursuing initial approaches on how processes can be improved and made more efficient. This does not replace employees but supports them."

And when it comes to IT security, the CEO sees a need for action: "The issue is becoming increasingly critical, and companies need to deal with it much more. Especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, this is important and is often still too neglected."

Company Center Planned

For Nikolai Hofmeister, supporting his customers is a priority: "Everyone wants digitization. But there are still many companies that are not as far along as they would like to be because they lack the capacities to implement digitization."

For the next few years, the construction of a new company center in sustainable construction in the Oldenstadt district of Uelzen is on the agenda. Here, the business branches IT and Office are to be merged. In parallel, the construction of an own data center is planned, which is intended to replace the current rental object.
