"Human health is the highest good!"
Interview with Jörn Seel, Entrepreneur at mediCAD GmbH
Thanks to medical software for surgical planning, the outcome of surgical procedures can be significantly improved. mediCAD GmbH has established itself as a leading company in the field of digital surgical planning and is revolutionizing medical imaging with their innovative software solutions. Entrepreneur Jörn Seel explains how perseverance, innovative spirit, and entrepreneurial courage ensure the company's success.
For over 25 years, mediCAD GmbH has been developing innovative software solutions for medical imaging and surgical planning. What once began with manual processes is now, thanks to digital technologies, more precise and efficient than ever before. "Today, digital surgical planning is standard, and we are proud to have actively shaped this change," says Jörn Seel. The software from mediCAD allows doctors to precisely plan surgical interventions, leading to better treatment outcomes and higher patient safety.
Excellence through modern technologies: The role of 3D and AI
mediCAD relies on the most advanced technologies to optimize medical planning. 3D models already allow for a very accurate analysis of patient images and new technologies such as artificial intelligence will increasingly influence imaging, Jörn Seel is sure: "This will allow for the generation of mass data of even higher quality, in the form of collected expertise from doctors who have gained this over decades in surgical planning. This enables doctors to plan in a shorter time and much more precisely. This not only saves a considerable amount of time but also contributes significantly to quality improvement."
Entrepreneurship: Perseverance and Stamina
A fundamental basis for business success, as Jörn Seel sees it, is also in sticking to beliefs and ideas: "Success means holding on to ideas, developing them further, and investing in them long-term. Sourcing talent and capital is crucial, but even more important is tenacity. Entrepreneurship means having stamina." With this attitude, mediCAD has often done well. For example, it took three years to get approval for the Chinese market. "The regulatory hurdles were enormous, but we have proven that we can compete internationally," says Jörn Seel. "This perseverance has paid off for us."
Employees: The Alpha and Omega
Recruiting skilled workers is also a challenge for mediCAD, one that the company continuously addresses: "It is crucial to train talented employees, inspire them for their tasks, and retain them in the company long-term," says the CEO. "What is important is that the motivation of employees for their work also comes from within. Targeted education and support as well as a respectful corporate culture are therefore essential."
