Passion for Mobility
Interview with Eugène Krabbenborg, CEO of Fleet Support Group B.V
Entrepreneurs who really want to focus on their core business appreciate having reliable partners who can relieve them. Such a partner is the Dutch company Fleet Support Group B.V. Based in Arnhem, the company advises and supports in all aspects of mobility. Experienced professionals with great expertise, supported by the latest digital technologies, search for the best possible solutions for the customer and their employees.
Why do customers choose to collaborate with Fleet Support Groep B.V.? CEO Eugène Krabbenborg provides the answer: "Above all, we have a very large knowledge base and also a lot of experience. And with that, we support our clients as advisors and consultants. The industry is becoming increasingly complex and we help our customers navigate it well. This includes all aspects of mobility. This complex issue is not the core business of most companies. That's why they outsource it and put it in our hands. We have specialists who take care of all aspects."
Comprehensive Services
The range of services offered by Fleet Support Group is comprehensive. These include consulting and software as well as services. The consulting concerns topics such as electrification, procurement, benchmarking, and policy. In terms of services, the company provides solutions for lease and fleet control, as well as mobility and fleet management. "We advise clients, for example, on the electrification of their vehicle fleets, including the necessary charging infrastructure," explains Eugène Krabbenborg. "Often, we also act as intermediaries between our clients and leasing companies. Another important topic: We are currently working on a new mobility platform called Muto. This platform, planned as 'Software as a service', compiles all available data and offers a wide variety of providers. In the past, the focus was on the leasing car, but in the future, it will be the employee around whom everything revolves." Thus, the software determines the optimal and appropriate mobility solution for each employee: For one, it might be public transport, for another a bicycle, and for another a leasing vehicle. Muto is intended to represent the entire mobility spectrum for the employee, starting from leasing bicycles, over electric cars and charging stations, to mobility passes, public transportation, and street maps. Moreover, Muto will also document all transactions between the various actors on the platform.
Part of AutoBrink Group
The Fleet Support Group was established in the early 1990s in the Netherlands. The two founders initially focused on consulting projects and lease control for business customers. Over the following years, the range of services gradually expanded to include full-service mobility management for companies. Since 2018, Fleet Support has been wholly owned by AutoBrink. The Belgian sister company XPOfleet, based in Antwerp, is responsible for all the software of the company headquartered in Arnhem with a team of 100 employees.
Present at Trade Fairs
In addition to the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany are export markets for Fleet Support Group. Around 60% of the sales are generated in the Netherlands, 30% in Belgium, and about 10% in Germany. "In the Netherlands, outsourcing for large companies with many vehicles is our most important line of business," explains the CEO. "Our software Muto is interesting for companies with a workforce of 100 or more." Contact with customers is maintained by service teams in the respective countries. For marketing, the mobility experts rely on a mix of direct sales, online outreach, and campaigns. Furthermore, Fleet Support Group is present with a booth at trade fairs such as 'Flotte' in Düsseldorf and the 'Fleet Europe Days' in Luxembourg.
Passion and Profession
"When we talk about Fleet Management, we are talking about a lot of cars and huge amounts of data," knows Eugène Krabbenborg. "That's why digitalization is important and indispensable for us. And this is exactly why we are currently investing in the development of our new mobility platform Muto. After all, data is the basis of many activities. Moreover, we are constantly looking at how we can use Artificial Intelligence for our purposes." Sustainability also holds a great importance in the concept of the Fleet Support Group. Eugène Krabbenborg: "We support our customers in transforming their fleets into a fully electrified one. More and more companies want to organize their mobility without emissions. And here, the infrastructure of charging points also plays an important role. We are also always looking for possible alternatives to the car, for example through leasing bicycles and public transportation." When talking about the success of the Fleet Support Group, of course, the mention of the employees in the team is crucial. "We work very professionally here," the CEO is pleased. "Our people understand their craft and are also very passionate about it. Being part of a family business, they also think entrepreneurially. We listen carefully to what the customers say." And what does the future hold? "Our goal is to simplify the complexity of the mobility landscape and to provide all the relevant data on our platform to our customers. We also want to promote bidirectional charging of electric vehicles."
