From Experience to Digital – PentaSoft Guides the Change
Interview with Hartwig Stöckl, Manager of Corporate Development and Hubert Bichler, Board Member of PentaSoft Business Consulting AG
The digital transformation is a challenge for many companies. PentaSoft Business Consulting AG, located in Unterföhring, has been accompanying businesses on this journey for almost three decades. With a strong team of IT specialists and business analysts, it combines technology and strategy, efficiency and humanity. Today, many topics revolve around issues like cloud solutions, compliance, and artificial intelligence.
27 years ago, it all began with seven consultants working in IT programming – initially in the mainframe environment. Five of them founded what is today PentaSoft and gave the company its name. Today, PentaSoft is an internationally positioned company with around 80 employees at locations in Unterföhring and Thessaloniki. What was once a software house has become a team of consultants who support customers in digital transformation, also bridging the gap between departments and IT. "We have grown organically, deliberately at a pace that enables quality and the integration of new colleagues," emphasizes Hubert Bichler, board member and co-founder of the company. As the number of employees increased, the company was restructured. "It was important for us to preserve our corporate culture – collaborative, family-oriented, and close to people," adds Hartwig Stöckl, Manager of Corporate Development and Consultant.
From Mainframe to the Digital Future
PentaSoft supports its customers in transitioning from old mainframe systems to future-proof cloud architectures. In addition to software development, the company offers consulting on compliance requirements and primarily works with clients in the automotive and finance sectors. "Our approach is to truly understand our customers and to support them in the long term," explains Hartwig Stöckl. Therefore, the software developers are also trained in technical skills. "We combine technical and professional knowledge. This creates quality and trust," emphasizes Hubert Bichler. Artificial intelligence also shapes the work at PentaSoft. In the future, AI is expected to take over routine tasks in software development, thereby creating room for creative and complex tasks. "The role of the developer will change, from coder to architect who understands what the AI does and validates results," says Hartwig Stöckl. Looking to the future, PentaSoft is also investing in the next generation. In addition to recruiting in Germany, the company relies on personal contacts and trade fairs in Greece, and cooperation with German schools are under discussion. The company insists that new employees speak German or are willing to learn the language. In the long run, PentaSoft wants to stay flexible and keep up with the times and technologies. Growth at all costs is not the goal. "It is important that our employees are satisfied and enjoy their work. Because our business cannot function without the people. Only if they are motivated will the customer remain excited," emphasizes Hubert Bichler. Thus, PentaSoft will continue to be a reliable partner for companies in the digital transition.
