Space for Innovations
Interview with Silvio Stark, Managing Director of Schiffler-Möbel GmbH
The choice of furniture is crucial for a safe, comfortable, and functional environment in clinics and nursing facilities, senior residences, hotels, daycares, schools, and youth hostels. The furniture must meet the requirements and needs of the users and, at the same time, promote a positive quality of life. Schiffler-Möbel GmbH is committed to this standard: The company from Brandenburg develops and builds furniture for special requirements.
The requirements for furniture in various facilities vary according to the needs and activities of the users. Schiffler-Möbel GmbH understands these requirements and meets them: 'We dare to tackle themes that others reject, and we can especially demonstrate our expertise in the field of custom solutions,' says Silvio Stark, CEO and co-founder of the company. 'We produce exclusively custom furniture and have a very well-developed portfolio that has grown over the years. We have a very high production depth, including our own painting line, and can process all materials.'
Getting People Excited About Crafts
Since its establishment in March 1991, Schiffler-Möbel has developed into a leading company in its industry. Initially with only eight employees and a focus on furniture for kindergartens and schools, the company has continuously expanded its product and service portfolio over time, demonstrating passion, an innovative spirit, and a clear understanding of customer needs. However, the company currently faces numerous challenges. These include increasing competition that necessitates cost-effective furniture production, as well as managing corporate succession. 'Additionally, we are concerned about the shortage of skilled workers,' says the managing director.
"However, young people are increasingly rediscovering craftsmanship for themselves – so the situation is slowly changing." He would support it if more young people were available to the labor market. "There are young people for whom school is not suitable. Why can't we take them into training starting from the 8th grade, so they can work? Both sides would benefit from this."
Individual Solutions
The range of services offered by Schiffler-Möbel GmbH includes the development, planning, and implementation of furniture projects for a variety of facilities. The company realizes tailored solutions for clinics and care facilities, hotels, senior living homes, kindergartens, schools, and youth residences. Each project is a unique challenge, as behind each order lies an individual story and a specific concern. "Our top priority is that people truly feel comfortable in the spaces we design," emphasizes the Managing Director. "We place great importance on quality, functionality, and aesthetics. We rely not only on traditional craftsmanship but also on technical innovations. Our furniture combines carefully selected materials, ergonomic design, and appealing aesthetics. Besides the practical use, furniture must also convey a lifestyle and create a positive atmosphere." With a production depth ranging from the cutting of materials to final assembly, Schiffler-Möbel guarantees the highest quality and maximum flexibility. The production site in the south of Brandenburg covers an area of 30,000 m2, of which 6,500 m2 is dedicated to production space. There, Schiffler-Möbel works with the latest machines and technologies, including large portal saws and a comprehensive painting line.
Strong Team
The core of the company is the 100 dedicated employees who work together as a team to provide customers with the best possible solutions. Flat hierarchies, transparent communication, and mutual respect define the company culture. The management values the input of their staff and is always open to new ideas and suggestions.
In the market for furniture and interior design, digitalization is playing an increasingly important role, which is why Schiffler-Möbel continuously invests in software solutions and digital processes. Another focus is on logistics. Efficient and reliable delivery of furniture from the factory to the construction site is crucial for the success of the projects. Here, the company relies on well-thought-out logistics management and strong partnerships with logistics companies.
Potential for the Future
"Our view of the future is characterized by optimism and determination," says Silvio Stark. "Despite the current challenges in the construction sector, we see great potential for our company, particularly in the area of renovating schools and kindergartens. We want to expand our presence on social media and establish ourselves as a partner for innovative interior design projects for private clients. Innovation, quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction are the cornerstones of our success. With this claim, we go to work every day and look forward to developing customized furniture solutions in the future that excite people and bring spaces to life."
