Secure Communication as a Premium Promise

Interview with Dirk Walla, Managing Director of WTG holding GmbH

WTG holding GmbH ‘Cloud Pure’
‘Cloud Pure’: The highly secure communication platform offers customized solutions for companies and authorities with the highest data protection requirements

The WTG group of companies is among the leading providers of communication and security solutions in German-speaking countries. Since 1913, the company has been developing innovative technologies that ensure the seamless operation of businesses, public institutions, and critical infrastructure. With a focus on AI, cloud technology, and customized solutions, WTG sets new standards in the industry.

WTG offers far more than standard solutions. Companies, such as those in the healthcare sector, government agencies, and security organizations, rely on the company's individually tailored communication and security solutions. "Our customers demand the highest availability, security, and adaptability – and that is exactly what we deliver," emphasizes CEO Dirk Walla. A prime example of the company's innovative strength is ‘Cloud Pure’, a highly secure cloud communication platform developed in Germany. Many of our customers place great importance on data protection. Cloud Pure was developed specifically for these requirements and is one of the safest solutions on the market," explains Dirk Walla.

From the telephone system to the communication platform

WTG began its history with the installation of one of the first automatic dialing offices in Germany. Today, the company develops highly specialized communication solutions for businesses, security authorities, and critical infrastructure. WTG is particularly strong in the areas of cloud telephony, AI-supported customer communication, and building security.

AI as a Driver of the Future

Another flagship project of the company is 'TONI', an AI-based real-time translator for emergency control centers. "The idea came after a tragic incident in Italy, where a tourist could not be saved in time due to language barriers," Dirk Walla recounts. TONI automatically recognizes the caller's language and translates it in real-time into the dispatcher's native language. AI technologies are also playing an increasingly important role in other areas. "We are working on making contact centers smarter with AI to handle customer inquiries faster and more efficiently," Dirk Walla adds.

Growth and Stability Despite Challenges

Despite economic uncertainties, WTG has achieved considerable growth in recent years. "Ten years ago, we had 180 employees and a turnover of 20 million EUR. Today, it's 350 employees and 55 million EUR in turnover," reports Dirk Walla. The goal is clear: "We aim to break the 100-million-EUR mark in the coming years." The company consciously opts for self-financing and stable creditworthiness, remaining true to its philosophy of complete self-financing and long-term stability. WTG reinvests all its profits into innovation and growth, thereby staying financially independent and stable.

Family-Owned Business with Innovative Power

WTG is still family-owned and plans no change in this respect. "The values of a family business are important to us. We focus on long-term strategies rather than short-term profit maximization," says Dirk Walla. An example of the modern corporate culture is the new 'Workation House' in Mallorca.

Looking to the Future

WTG has a clear strategy for 2025: "We believe that we should pursue a national strategy with AI, as well as with Cloud Pure. We ask ourselves: What specific needs are there in Germany?" Dirk Walla says. The answers to these questions will determine WTG's future. Whether it's cloud technology, building security, or AI applications – WTG remains committed to driving innovation while focusing on stability.
