The surface pretreatment of plastics plays a crucial role in many industrial applications, especially when it comes to improving the adhesion of coatings, inks, or adhesives to plastic materials. One method used in this context is corona pretreatment. Jungwirth Industrievertretungen GmbH from Steyr is a professional in this field.

Jungwirth Industrievertretungen is a family business that was founded in the early 1990s as a representative of Eltex, a company specializing in electrostatics. A milestone was the sale of the first corona pretreatment system in 1994. "Plasma pretreatment is important for printing on or adhering to plastics, for example," explains Maximilian Jungwirth, the founder's son and technology-enthusiastic deputy managing director. "This eventually led to contact with Ahlbrandt, a globally recognized manufacturer of corona treatment systems."

It's about the whole thing

Today, the company focuses on the mainstays of electrostatics and surface pretreatment, relying on the renowned brands Hill and Ahlbrand. From Steyr, the systems are distributed in Austria and in Eastern Europe. "Foreign business often arises through subsidiaries of internationally active customers," says Maximilian Jungwirth. "We work very closely with our customers, do not just look at our product in isolation, but always keep the entire process in view. This philosophy is one of our trademarks and is highly appreciated."

For the customers and with them

Developing products tailored to the needs of customers has always been a priority for Jungwirth. Maximilian Jungwirth, who grew up with the company and has been working there since 2018, has internalized this principle. "My task is to take over and intensify customer contacts," he says. "We want to bring innovations to the market and gain a foothold in new markets, while sticking to our quality strategy. Our systems last for 30 years and are thus almost 'too good'; we also support our customers with reliable services. In an emergency, we assemble a replacement system in a short time. Thanks to our size, we are very agile and flexible, and quick to provide replacement equipment to customers so that they can continue production. This service pays off; loyal, loyal customers form the basis of our success." Even if the economic conditions are challenging and competitors offer cheaper systems, Jungwirth looks positively to the future: Experience shows that quality has a future.
