Creating tickets, making complicated arrangements and waiting miserably long: The conventional approach to forgotten passwords and denied access permissions is frustrating for all parties involved. As part of the BAYOONET Group, BAYOOSOFT GmbH aims to provide relief for corporate and government customers with a stringent software alternative. Head of Sales and Product Services Franziska Weiß spoke with Wirtschaftsforum about the organizational approach behind it and the benefits for all involved.

Wirtschaftsforum: Ms. Weiß, as part of the BAYOONET Group founded in 2001, BAYOOSOFT GmbH is responsible for the distribution of its self-developed software solutions - in what context are these applied?

Franziska Weiß: We engage, among other things, with solutions for highly regulated areas such as critical infrastructure, for example with products that are specifically tailored to the particularly complex requirements of medical technology. Furthermore, we also appear completely independent of any specific industry in IT security, for example with our solution for Access and Identity Management with a strong self-service focus - with this, we want to empower the staff in the respective organizations to independently handle all the matters that would otherwise have to be managed by the IT department.

Wirtschaftsforum: What is the advantage of this approach?

Franziska Weiß: Let's consider the classic case of access permissions: If access is denied, a ticket often ends up first at the IT department, which has the technical means to grant access, but at the same time cannot make any substantive decision. Therefore, it is still necessary to involve the relevant employees from the respective department in the process to clarify things. This costs time, money, and unfortunately also nerves. With our solution, however, only a substantive approval by the person responsible for content is required, the technical implementation then takes place automatically, of course with appropriate organizational safety measures that also meet regulatory requirements.

According to the same principle, we can handle many other issues that regularly occur in almost all companies and authorities, such as resetting passwords, another classic in office life. From this solution, everyone benefits in the end: The departments are able to make quick and stringent decisions, the IT departments are relieved and can focus on their substantive tasks, and the users enjoy a streamlined and more pleasant user experience.

Wirtschaftsforum: How quickly can your software solutions be implemented?

Franziska Weiß: Generally, we offer a standard solution that works out-of-the-box; depending on the size of the respective structures, implementation usually does not take long. If an organization's IT department is interested in our products, such a decision is also well justifiable internally: Concrete experience values often exist for processing times for tickets, creating user accounts, or resetting forgotten passwords, which can then be transparently compared with our alternative in terms of cost-benefit calculations, making a quickly realizable return on investment apparent. At the same time, we place great value on appearing as a strong partner in digitization to our customers.

Accordingly, our solutions are also equipped with comprehensive configuration options, and we are happy to take the time for a thorough inventory of the current situation in the customer environment in order to develop a targeted individual solution on this basis. This exchange often continues long beyond mere implementation; in many cases, our teams and the departments of our customers work together trustfully for years. In this regard, all companies of the BAYOONET Group see themselves as companies that consistently think along – starting with our managing directors and other senior staff, all of whom have years of product experience, down to the individual experts in all our teams.
