Power electronic components, which are used in applications ranging from power supply to electromobility, generate significant heat that must be efficiently dissipated to avoid failures and extend component life. CTX Thermal Solutions GmbH from Nettetal has been at the forefront of thermal management for over 25 years, offering comprehensive cooling solutions for power electronics.

CTX Thermal Solutions GmbH specializes in a wide range of technologies that are used in various applications. The spectrum ranges from medical technology and e-mobility to industrial high-voltage applications. 'We are firmly convinced that we have the right value creation partner for every problem in order to offer the optimal solution,' says Ulf-Guido Held, Head of Sales and Authorized Officer. 'Whether small series or large-scale production – CTX delivers tailor-made solutions in every niche. This flexibility and the broad network of partners enable us to operate successfully in both traditional and emerging markets.'

Transformation

In 1997, CTX Thermal Solutions GmbH was established as a sales company for sensors, electronic cooling solutions, and knobs, and has since developed into the leading provider of cooling solutions in Europe. Over the past years, the company has initiated a significant transformation based on this success. A crucial step in this development was the acquisition of shares in PADA Engineering in Italy, which intensified the collaboration and enabled CTX to expand its portfolio with its own manufacturing, thereby becoming more independent.

This expansion enables CTX to not only utilize existing technologies, but also to re-establish some of the technologies in Europe. "Nevertheless, Asia remains an important partner in the value chain, particularly due to the technological advances there," emphasizes Ulf-Guido Held. "At the same time, the pressure to manufacture more in Europe due to new regulations is increasing. With PADA as a joint venture partner, we can meet these new requirements." Currently, CTX Thermal Solutions GmbH employs 40 people and has a turnover of 44 million EUR. The company has a subsidiary in China responsible for the supply chain and direct business, as well as a joint venture in Italy with PADA Engineering.

Further Expansion

The focus of CTX's portfolio is on cooling solutions for electronics. These are found in a wide range of products, from coffee machines to large inverters for solar plants and water coolers in power supplies for MRI machines. Simulation support ensures the functionality of the solutions in advance to guarantee the highest possible level of safety. The applications of the cooling solutions are diverse. "Currently, we are observing a downturn in the e-mobility sector in Europe, where the combustion engine is gaining importance again," explains Ulf-Guido Held.

"Conversely, solar energy as part of alternative energies is experiencing a strong comeback." CTX Thermal Solutions plans to continue expanding in Europe together with the partner in Italy. A key aspect of this strategy is to advance independence from the Chinese partners. Another partner in Asia, outside of China, complements the company's international network. In 2024, CTX was recognized by Focus as a top employer, reflecting the company's philosophy focused on sustainability and employee satisfaction. With a clear focus on innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, CTX Thermal Solutions GmbH is well-positioned to be successful in the future. The company’s mission to dissipate heat remains the central drive that advances the expansion and technological development.
