Additives in food are often better than their reputation. For example, food gains in nutritive value and taste by being enriched with vitamins or antioxidants. Falken Trade GmbH, based in Lübeck, is a Europe-recognized expert in the import of food additives. Company founder and managing director Lukasz Kujawa focuses on ecological products and reliable service.

With around 60% share of the total business, food additives are the most important pillar of Falken Trade. The product range includes vitamins, antioxidants, flavor enhancers, preservatives, and acidifiers. Additives for animal feed, such as amino acids and vitamins, complete the portfolio.

Trend Towards Sustainability

For some time now, the market has been moving towards ecological and organic products. "Ecological products are becoming increasingly important," says Managing Director Lukasz Kujawa. "Consumers want to see fewer N-numbers on the label. The coronavirus pandemic has further fueled this development."

Today, food and feed manufacturers as well as producers of beverages and spices from all over Europe rely on Falken Trade. The core markets are currently Poland and Germany. Customers appreciate the personal advice and reliability of the Falken Trade team as well as the uncomplicated and fast order processing.

Over the decades, we have developed into an important player in our market through courage, ideas, a lot of energy, and hard work."

Founded by Lukasz Kujawa in 2003, Falken Trade began by distributing apple juice concentrate from Poland to Germany. Following Poland's entry into the EU, the focus shifted to distributing additives from the Asian market across Europe.

In 2009, Lukasz Kujawa opened a branch in Poland. Today, this branch manages the entire distribution of goods to Central and Eastern Europe. Falken Trade now employs around 50 people.

Growth through Internationalization

The Managing Director looks optimistically to the future, even in the context of the current challenging market situation. "We are always ready to meet new challenges," he explains. "In the medium and long term, we aim to become a leading provider in our product segments in Central and Eastern Europe."
