PCB Technology to Count on
Interview with Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich G. Keth, Managing Director of PMC Leiterplatten Technology GmbH
In today’s complex electronics landscape, finding the right PCB supplier can be a daunting challenge. In this situation, PMC Leiterplatten Technology GmbH is the right partner to turn to. The company located in Usingen supports its clients by leveraging a comprehensive database and years of industry expertise. It specializes in developing tailored solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and precision. Whether clients require standard PCBs or specialized products, PMC combines its expertise and extensive network to ensure optimal results and reliable deliveries.
When in 1989 Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich G. Keth set up his own business, it was to handle a large consultancy project in the electronics sector. It quickly found its niche in electronics, specializing in PCBs by 1993. Today, PMC Leiterplatten Technology GmbH serves various industries, acting as a quasi-manufacturer by outsourcing production to partners in Asia while overseeing procurement and quality control.

Solutions for Complex Demands
PMC Leiterplatten Technology has built its reputation by providing tailored solutions for its customers, spanning industries such as automotive electronics, medical technology, and industrial electronics. The company offers expert consulutancy and fully comprehensive services, with PCB types ranging from standard boards to highly specialized products. This includes high-frequency PCBs for automotive radar systems, flexible boards for e-mobility, and ceramic PCBs for extreme heat environments. “Our clients’ demands are growing more complex,” adds Ulrich G. Keth. “We developed a flexible PCB for a major electronics manufacturer in the e-mobility sector, and we continue to innovate with products like ceramic boards for high-temperature environments.”
Resilience in Global Crises
The company’s business model has proven particularly resilient in the face of global challenges. Thanks to long-standing relationships with partners in Asia, many of which date back to Ulrich G. Keth’s university days, PMC was able to deliver on its promises. “While many competitors faced backlogs, we kept our delivery schedules on track, ensuring that our globally operating clients could maintain their operations running smoothly,” Ulrich G. Keth confirms.
While PMC’s focus remains on Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the company’s influence extends across Europe, with clients in Italy, France, and Scandinavia. Looking ahead, Ulrich G. Keth remains cautiously optimistic: “In the face of current challenges, many in the industry are implementing short-time work measures, but we have held firm. We have a great team and solid relationships with our partners.” Nevertheless, he also points to concerns about the broader electronics market, especially regarding electric vehicles. “Germany is lagging behind in developing competitive products for the electric vehicle market,” he warns. “We must adapt to global market trends to remain competitive.”
Set for Long-Term Success
Despite these challenges, PMC Leiterplatten Technology is well-prepared for the future. The company’s flexible, asset-light model allows it to respond quickly to changes in demand, and its strong relationships with manufacturers in Asia provide a competitive edge.
“Our model of not owning production facilities allows us to be extremely flexible,” the managing director explains. “We’re not tied down by a single production site, so we can adjust to market needs more easily than many competitors.”
In the coming years, PMC aims to grow its operations with the goal of reaching a turnover of 20 million EUR. The company’s commitment to precision, reliability, and innovation drives its success. “Clients come to us with their toughest problems, knowing we’ll deliver the right solution,” Ulrich G. Keth concludes. “As the market evolves, we’re confident we can meet whatever challenges lie ahead.”
