International trade presents many challenges. C.L. Contract Logistik AG, an independent 4PL and consulting company based in the St. Jakob Tower in Basel, is a professional when it comes to smart logistics concepts.

The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of logistical services that are tailored to the individual needs and requirements of its customers. This includes transport planning and control, customs processing, as well as the development of individual IT solutions.
In addition, the company also supports customers in handling administrative tasks and the creation and management of tax- and customs-relevant documents.
"Customs is an important issue for our customers," says Charlotte Heidenreich. "With our own customs department in-house, we handle over 40,000 customs clearances per year. With our customs permits, we are able to conduct border clearances even outside customs opening hours. We refer to this as 'emergency logistics,' which comes into play, for example, during a machine downtime."

Transparency and Individuality

All transportation and associated services are handled through reliable and longstanding partner networks. "At our company, the customer truly is at the center," explains Patrick Cali the success of the company founded in 2001. "We are neutral and respond individually to the respective requirements. In addition, we provide our customers with absolute transparency about our processes and our collaboration with partners. This builds trust. Our partner networks have grown over the years and we know who is strong in which area (best-in-class). Last but not least, our customers value the personal contact and direct point of contact." Charlotte Heidenreich and Patrick Cali look to the future with confidence. "We are currently implementing a new ERP system," says Patrick Cali. "This is a comprehensive project that will occupy us this year. Further digitalization is important for the development of our company."
"Furthermore, at the end of this year, we will complete the generational change with the retirement of our CEO and founding member, Hubert Heidenreich. However, he will continue to support us as the chairman of the board," adds Charlotte Heidenreich. "We want to grow sustainably and solidly while remaining true to ourselves. We know where we come from. We are proud of our dynamic and well-trained team and thus have the best conditions for a successful future."
