Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos of Crete, fell in love with Theseus, the son of King Aegeus of Athens. Theseus came with the seven Athenian boys and girls who were sent to Crete as a tribute to be sacrificed to the Minotaur, a half-man, half-bull monster living in a labyrinth. Ariadne gave Theseus a ball of thread to unwind on his way through the labyrinth and, after killing the Minotaur, Theseus found his way out. Today, the Norwegian FotoWare a.s. provides an ‘Ariadne’s thread’ system for companies to find the way through the labyrinth of their digital assets, quickly and easily.
