It takes an extra portion of perseverance to achieve the seemingly impossible. Jennewein Biotechnologie GmbH in Rheinbreitbach, Germany, had this perseverance – and succeeded. The company, which was founded in 2005, decided to focus on the commercial development of human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), rare sugars found only in human milk and which promise a range of health benefits. Since then, the German enterprise has developed a range of new and exciting products for use as active food ingredients or R&D reagents.
