In January 2015, a truck fire in the Channel Tunnel connecting Britain and France caused a traffic jam on both sides of the tunnel. After the train stopped at a security stop, the fire-fighting system was activated and extinguished the fire immediately, and the 42 passengers on the train were evacuated without incident. The reliable function of the fire-fighting system is based on actuators tailor-made by the German company PS Automation GmbH. Widely used across Europe, PS actuators have proven their effectiveness above all in critical situations.
