Södra Interiör to build new logistics centre in Sweden
Södra acquires flooring manufacturer Föllinge Golv
Södra Interiör is acquiring flooring manufacturer Föllinge Golv AB. The company is situated just north of Östersund, employs six members of staff and produces around 40,000 square metres of solid wood flooring per year. Södra Interiör will be taking over on 1 January 2013.
A large selection of mouldings
Owned by 51,000 private forest owners and a group of private companies, Södra Sweden has made its name as a high-quality producer of sawn and planed timber goods, interior products and paper pulp. One of Södra’s subsidiaries in Denmark, Södra Interiör A/S with headquarters in Åbyhøj, functions as a connector between the Scandinavian and Central European markets, and sells floorings, wooden ceilings and mouldings.
Weak economy and strong krona have negative impact on Södra's results
A weak international economic situation and massive fluctuations in currency exchange rates have adversely affected the markets for Södra's primary products and contributed to a negative result for the first three quarters of the year. However, price levels have stabilised on the pulp market and a price increase was implemented in October.
