Last Friday, August 23, the Hong Kong Productivity council (HKPC) and 23 Chinese managers visited Mikron SA in Agno as part of a study trip. Mikron Machining showed the managers from different industrial companies how they can increase productivity and quality with Mikron's machining solutions. Following the presentation the participants engaged in interesting discussions, and Mikron was able to establish valuable contacts. The HKPC is a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to increase productivity and the competitiveness of industrial companies in Hong Kong.

Next year, Prof. Dr. Peter Forstmoser, a longstanding member of the Mikron Group's Board of Directors, will reach the age limit defined in the Group's Organizational Rules and will therefore step down from the Board with effect from the Annual General Meeting on April 9, 2013. The Board of Directors will propose that the Annual General Meeting elect Dr. Andreas Casutt to the Board. Casutt is a partner in the well known law firm of Niederer Kraft & Frey.
Mikron Automation has achieved significant sales successes in China and the United States in recent weeks. A new Chinese customer has placed two orders based on the EcoLine platform, whilst two major orders for systems based on the G05 platform have been received in the US.
One year ago, Mikron Tool amazed the world of drilling with the new development of flexible solid carbide drills and earned respect from the producers of deep hole drills, because these drills, starting at 0.1 mm diameter, achieved drilling depths up to 30 x D. Today, the Swiss tool producer takes another step forward and expands their drilling program of CrazyDrill Flex.
