Fixed base – variable services

Based at Paris-Le Bourget Airport, Square One Aviation is branded as Jetex and is a member of Jetex Flight Support Group, a globally operating provider of flight support services and a fixed-base operator (FBO). Jetex was launched at the EBACE Airshow (Geneva) in 2005 and set up its first FBO in Paris in 2009.

“Paris-Le Bourget is the largest civilian airport in this segment in Europe,” explains President Salem Youssef. “Within a mere three years, we have managed to attain a market share of 20%.”

In the years since, Jetex has continuously expanded its network to include further 24/7 FBOs in Dubai, Chile and Ireland. Square One Aviation employs 40 people and had revenues of 7.2 million EUR in 2014.

Its services include aircraft fueling and cleaning, ground handling, aircraft parking, greeting services at the aircraft, concierge services, catering, trip planning and other key flight support services.

“For some services, such as catering or cleaning, we work together with external suppliers,” states Mr. Youssef. Jetex serves the owners and operators of executive aircraft and ranks among the top five providers of flight support services worldwide.

The goal of the company is to continue growing and establish additional FBOs at major international airports. “Many smaller providers have been squeezed out of the market, and the remaining ones are getting larger,” Mr. Youssef describes the concentration trend. “The market is changing rapidly, and we are determined to stay as flexible as possible in order to be able to adapt to these changing requirements.”

In further advancing its position in the competitive flight support services sector, Jetex can build on its excellent reputation in the aviation world. As one of the cornerstones of the group’s success, Square One Aviation plans to construct a new hangar at Paris-Le Bourget.

“In addition, we want to set up a new network of FBOs in North and South America,” explains Mr. Youssef.
