Air and Sea Freight Forwarder with Heart and Soul
Interview with Christoph Helfrich, Managing Director of LGX Logistics GmbH & Co. KG
Air and sea freight transports are the core business of LGX Logistics GmbH & Co. KG. Headquartered in Darmstadt with a branch in Hamburg, the company considers itself a service provider to its customers in the truest sense of the word, extending beyond mere transport: LGX Logistics implements its standards for customer service and sustainability every day. We spoke with Managing Director Christoph Helfrich about values such as authenticity and approachability in a highly competitive market.
"We are wholeheartedly an air and sea freight forwarder," says Christoph Helfrich. "Of course, we also handle national or Europe-wide truck transports if our customers desire, but that is not our focus." As an air and sea freight forwarder, the company supports its clients along the entire logistics chain, worldwide. "From warehouse to warehouse, from doorstep to doorstep, directly from sender to receiver," the managing director sums it up. LGX Logistics has an extensive partner network in the USA, South America, and Asia. "Through this network, we are able to transport from any to every country in the world – and we are not specialized in specific goods, but are fundamentally open to everything," says Christoph Helfrich.
Service Provider in the True Sense of the Word
LGX Logistics stands out from the competition not only through special flexibility, but also through authenticity and approachability, as the managing director emphasizes: "In recent years, the big competitors are getting bigger. As a result, service quality and customer satisfaction often decline. This is our advantage, because our claim is to be an extended logistics department, service provider, and advisor to our customers – and not just to transport goods from A to B.
We are approachable, while being authentic and transparent in our pricing. That makes the difference. Another point is the commitment to sustainability in an industry that is not necessarily sustainable by nature. 'Years ago, we decided to make sustainability a central corporate value and to be a service provider in this respect for customers who want to reduce their CO2 footprint,' says Christoph Helfrich. 'By appropriate planning and choice of transportation means, we help them save emissions.' Last year, LGX Logistics hired more staff and set up its own customs department. 'Now acquisition is at the top of the agenda,' says Christoph Helfrich. 'In October, we will be represented with our own booth for the first time at the sustainability fair impact Festival in Frankfurt.'
